What Was That: February 2009

Monday, February 23, 2009. Similar to blog pages I find that the individual wiki pages carry personality. Some of them are straight forward. get the information across, while others are very fancy and advanced. I found Code-blue. Despite the plainness it is still a phenomenal educational tool. A teacher can list assignments with due dates (that would stop the straggler student at your desk each class period saying, "what did you do last class? This site was so absolutely amazing that it made the others v...

23 things: July 2011

Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Thing 23: One Last Thing. One last thing.reflect on my journey.WOW! I have learned so many things in this course: how to link, embed, create a web page, a wiki.the list goes on. Even more importantly, I once again learned that the old adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is so very false. As an old dog, I learned a number of new tricks! There were times I wasn't sure I could do this and finish this class, but I DID IT! Thing 22: Exploring Social Network in Education.

CLICK HERE FOR BLOGGER TEMPLATES. Wednesday, July 15, 2009. Overall, I found this course to be one of the most interesting. There were things that I already knew how to do, but I had forgot about them. I really enjoyed learning about flickr. It wasn't as overwhelming. I was able to navigate that page more efficiently. I had a little difficulty trying to figure out how to get back to the page I created,. But after that it was really easy to add new things to my page. As for educators being familiar with t...

Cry Havoc!: September 2009
http://salinger-cryhavoc.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
You asked, remember that. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. The Trials of Thing 8. I am familiar with Wikipedia; truthfully, who isn't familiar with Wikipedia? Anyway, as I searched through some of the wikis linked to the 23things page, I was at first completely overwhelmed. I guess I was expecting something more like Wikipedia, including the Encyclopedia set up. Instead I was bombarded with too much extraneous stuff on the page, or at times, a lack of obvious student work. Maybe I'm confused by what looks ...

1 Teacher's Outlook: June 2010
http://1tchrsoutlk.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
This is just 1 Tx teacher's outlook on education. Feel free to take it or leave it. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. This assignment was by far the most time-consuming we have done so far. I had high hopes for my sandbox wiki. After browsing others from the previous assignment, but once I got in the sandbox, I realized that adding content was a little more difficult than I thought it would be. It started out with the table of contents, where I didn't quite understand that there had to be 2 brackets. For their tes...

Wednesday, June 30, 2010. I have seen the CC. Symbol before on material and thought it meant something related to closed captioning (like on TV). lol. This CC seems like it would be great for students as they learn more about technology and use it to their advantage on projects. Especially if they were able to go straight to one of the directories. I have shared you tubes, power points on emails, and some daily devotions as well. I will have to check into that and see if it's allowed legally. So, how did...
