http://www.codybcleo-beading.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Follow the links below to my other blogs. Sunday, March 28, 2010. My second Simply Beads kit came quickly after the first one. This time it was an Abalone Watch and Earrings kit. While I initially liked the picture, when I got the beads out I discovered that I didn't like bright blue bicone crystals with the subtler blue and green of the abalone shell beads. Off I went to the beading store again to pick up some substitute beads. Tuesday, March 23, 2010. My first trip to the local beading center with the ...

Follow the links below to my other blogs. Thursday, April 22, 2010. I had this nice round shell pendant with a hole in the center, left over from my first project, Seaside Ensemble. I wanted to do something with it but wasn't sure what so I set it aside and waited for inspiration. It didn't take long to be inspired! Penrapture and I went to South Hadley's Tower Theaters. Follow the links below to my other blogs. Friday, February 25, 2011. Railroad Tracks and The Man. The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England, and English expatriates designed the US railroads. Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the gauge they used.

Continuing the story from the previous post, we headed back to the party adjacent to Galbraith Field where the Kiwanis Club of Easthampton Annual Fireworks Festival was in full swing. This time there were a few more people at the party but it really felt more like a family BBQ than a fun filled fireworks party. It had been threatening thunderstorms all afternoon which makes for interesting cloud pictures.

My theory is that it is one of the few times in the day when you are truly alone, with no distractions. No tv, computer, phone, children, dog, cat, bird, fish…. So I was in the shower after my letterboxing. And RayK today, wondering what I was going to write about the Amethyst Brook Conservation Area again. As far as volunteering goes, t...
