Project 22: November 2014

Friday, November 28, 2014. The allure of 'more' during the holidays. I hope you all had a turkey-filled, football-watching, food-induced coma filled Thanksgiving with your loved ones. And if for some reason you weren't able to be with your loved ones, I hope that you found at least 3 reasons to be thankful whether or not you had the traditional turkey and stuffing or you resorted to a frozen pizza. Annoyed. But then I paused and thought a bit. Image via Dust Jacket. Hope you all got some serious steals t...

Thursday, August 28, 2014. Cheap therapy painting and frozen pizza. With a quick run to Michael's and a stop by Trader Joe's, I was fully stocked: a rainbow of paints, blank canvases, 2 buck chuck and a frozen pizza. Truth be told, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to paint, but it always makes for an interesting end product when I'm armed with paint and a paintbrush with no idea in the world what to paint. Did I mention that my boyfriend was at a bachelor party on Friday night and made it to bed by 1:0...

Monday, July 14, 2014. Bachelorette it's okay to believe in fairytales. Love, hate. Isn't that how most girls describe their relationship with the Bachelor(ette)? I've been watching the Bachelor since 2002 - do the math and that's when I was 12 years old. I repeat: twelve! Sure, I'm 24 now and I know that what I watch is actually a manipulated and glorified version of love - but how can you blame a human for getting swept up in to all of that? A third thing I've learned from the show is that girls love.

Sunday, April 20, 2014. Bind my wandering heart to Thee. Happy Easter, friends. I got out of the shower and about 5 minutes after that, my mom called up to me asking if I was ready to go. hah, not even close. Is that really fair of me to hold myself to that standard when God does not? So, as you can imagine, I felt pretty shitty (yes, my vocabulary includes cuss words now). Hope you all have a blessed Easter Sunday! He is risen, indeed. You are forgiven and loved. Sunday, April 6, 2014. Overall, it was a...

Monday, December 2, 2013. I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving! Ours this year was a little bit out of the ordinary for us. No turkey and stuffing. No women chattering away and cooking up a storm in the kitchen. No Aunt Georgia's famous rolls (sigh). No turkey induced comas. This year, we celebrated Thanksgiving with my little family of four one in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. And nothing sounded appealing. So, Puerto Vallarta it was! Aun aprendo / I am still learning. Project 22: May 2015

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. February marked my one year of being back in Texas after living in San Francisco for two years. When that thought crossed my mind, it honestly had felt like I never left Texas at all. San Francisco and that whole life I lived felt but a dream. But what I didn't know then, is having that job not work out would be one of the better things that would happen to me in my 25 years of life. It all started with a Tribeza article. It was the Interiors Issue - which to me is like the equiv...

Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Can you believe 2015. But in a sense, although thinking that the world will end is a bit extreme, I understand the 'fear of the future' notion and see why those numbers represented something foreign and unknown. *I cried after watching Bicentennial Man when I was younger and considered it a scary movie. No lie! Wake up early and enjoy the hope that a brand new day can bring. Be quiet, still, and listen. Spend less. Save more. Exercise creativity whenever possible. Write mo...
