Michelle in the Andes: April 2008
http://michelleintheandes.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Friday, 11 April 2008. Holidaying with Matt and Claire. Drying washing on oil pipeline. After waiting for a rainstorm (and arguing about the lack of life jackets and veggie food.) we set off in a canoe with outboard motor. The river is amazingly meandering - bending back on itself lots and narrow so we could see the plants and wildlife from the boat. We got back to Quito on the Thursday night, all with ...

Michelle in the Andes: Galapagos photos
http://michelleintheandes.blogspot.com/2008/06/galapagos-photos.html
Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Tuesday, 17 June 2008. Photos from a short unusual trip to the Galapagos with Mark last month. Instead of doing a tour of the animals and the park, we visited the rubbish dump and the route of a powerline which will link a new windproject Mark is involved in to the main town on Santa Cruz Island. Its part of a project to make the Galapagos self sufficient in energy from renewable sources. Centro Bartolo...

Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Tuesday, 21 August 2007. This morning I woke up terrified when an aeroplane flew overhead because I mistook the vibrations for an earthquake. After the earthquake in Lima. Last Wednesday, traffic rumbling by or even the vibration or my mobile phone keep making me jump. If anyone wants to donate to relief efforts, the Peruvian consulate in London has details. Tuesday, 7 August 2007. Hard to believe in Li...

Michelle in the Andes: Some reflections on the summit
http://michelleintheandes.blogspot.com/2008/05/some-reflections-on-summit.html
Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Monday, 26 May 2008. Some reflections on the summit. The verdict of the organisers of the alternative summit, many civil society groups and NGOs and some sectors of the media is disappointment with the lack of concrete agreements in the final declaration from the summit and concern that negotiations for Association Agreements will continue. In terms of the controversial association agreements (which inc...

Michelle in the Andes: June 2007
http://michelleintheandes.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Sunday, 24 June 2007. Fernando took me to the bus station to head to Quilotoa. I think the purple plants in foreground are quinoa which grows wild here as well as being cultivated. Saturday, 16 June 2007. The joys of food. I am finding writing a blog a bit of an odd thing- producing a rambling monologue with no clear audience.but anyway, I'm going to carry on regardless. I have now finished my orientati...

Michelle in the Andes. Michelle is working as a development worker for Progressio in Ecuador and Peru. Wednesday, 30 May 2007. I've spent the last few days in Somerset saying goodbye to Mum, Dad and Matt and am about to get the train to London to properly leave. It still doesn't seem real though. It's hard to imagine what the work will be like and hard to imagine that I'll be in Ecuador tomorrow. Thursday, 10 May 2007. Welcome to Michelle's blog. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
