Baby Couldn’t Wait | Colin Ryan Poetry - Songs
https://colinryanpoetrysongs.wordpress.com/2010/07/21/baby-couldnt-wait
Colin Ryan Poetry – Songs. Still trying hard to understand. Waiting in a foreign land. For a lover’s hand. To hold on to. A few more weeks is all it needs. To find a way across the seas. Arriving on the breeze. But baby said she couldn’t wait. Life’s too hard for her to take. Decisions she would make. Give up her dream. She couldn’t do it all alone. Needed someone of her own. To make a working home. And share her life. So took a step back in her past. Found someone within her grasp. So home he stays.

Colin Ryan Poetry – Songs. I believed you when. When you said those words. All the laughs we shared. And all the memories that we made. All our days were. Silly games we played. That no-one else could understand. I believed in you. And I loved you. Always hand in hand. On a cold and rainy day. Little notes you left. Hugs and kisses, hearts. And promises of our forever. I believed them all. So I loved you. But all these things were only. To hide your true intentions. You could live that way. To hold on to.

Colin Ryan Poetry – Guest Writers. Lonely in the dead of night,. Painful memories I begin to fight,. Shadows forming on the wall,. One shadow I fear most of all. The shadow is a haunting sight,. My heart is racing and I long for light. Engulfing me in his warped evil way,. Come play with me’, I hear him say. His touch is cold, his hands are rough,. His eyes are filled with evil lust,. By strength and by force, he pins me down,. Do not breath, do not make a sound! Paralyzed by fear I close my eyes,.

Flat Beer | Colin Ryan Poetry - Poems
https://colinryanpoetrypoems.wordpress.com/2014/03/18/flat-beer
Colin Ryan Poetry – Poems. The paradox in the public bar. Where the self proclaimed connoisseurs of the pint. Who delight in imparting their superior knowledge for creating the perfect beverage. Down to the details in the shape of the glass. Now sit dispassionately unaware of the flattening heads lined up along the bar. As the gas escapes, their eyes fixed to the corner of the room. Deflected from their assured rectitude. By multi-millionaires in short trousers running around a green screen. New ditty ab...

Love Tea | Colin Ryan Poetry - Poems
https://colinryanpoetrypoems.wordpress.com/2014/06/12/love-and-tea
Colin Ryan Poetry – Poems. Is love so fragile. As a cracked tea cup. Would it cause you to throw it away. Perhaps, from that china set. The one you’d use for special visitors. But once or twice a year. Pretty, but never really comfortable to hold. Nor ever did it’s taste satisfy. But is real love so disposable. Can it ever truly be replaced. Like your favourite mug. The one you use all day without washing. Because the tea tastes the best every time. Could the same fate befall it. Should you lose your grip.

The Evolution Of Coastal Crows | Colin Ryan Poetry - Poems
https://colinryanpoetrypoems.wordpress.com/2014/10/08/the-evolution-of-coastal-crows
Colin Ryan Poetry – Poems. The Evolution Of Coastal Crows. The Evolution Of Coastal Crows. 8221; says Sinéad as we walk along the grass above the shoreline,. 8220;I’ve never seen that before”. The crows were sharing the beach the with the seagulls. We stopped to watch them learning from their web footed cousins. How to feed from the sands and pools. It occurred to me that there had been a truce in the Great War. Between the sea and the farmer’s fields. Wings spread, above the narrow path to the beach.
