This was the first full leg of our return home. 443 miles of straight, mostly flat Hwy 50. Roads like this make it all too easy to cruise at triple digit speeds at length. Hwy 50 at the Utah - Nevada border looking west. Gas stop in Ely, NV. Landmark Hotel and Casino in Ely, NV. Hwy 50 going west from Ely, NV. Much ado about nothing.

We left Ouray, refueled on the way out of town and headed north. The ride north of Ouray to Ridgway was pleasant and uneventful. For me back to Sammamish. We had a good warm up breakfast at the hotel before getting on the road. Just another WordPress blog. Country Boys BBQ and 3 Pass Blast. May 19, 2012. May 19, 2012 – Cashmere BBQ ride. Two scruffy guys, Randy and me (with Dean in the background). Once across the pass, we got off at Easton to ride some back roads all the way to Thorp before turning counter clockwise to return on Rt 10 to Cle Elum where we would then go north through Blewitt Pass to Peshastin, Rt 2 east and finally into Cashmere. Lines of bikes and lines of bikers. Here’s my tracks for the day. May 16, 2012.

Well, I was supposed to be on the road already heading towards my first night’s destination, but while packing up and checking tire pressures I noticed oil on the fork legs. This is not a good sign nor is it something I can fix myself. So instead being 100 miles from home, I’m waiting for the shop to open with the hope of getting it sorted out today to salvage the ride. More to come…. Will post up when I get in for the night. Ciao.
