We have a strong community ethos and try to involve ourselves with initiatives and events that benefit the wider deaf community as much as we can. We actively support the British Deaf Association in a variety of ways and have involved ourselves in a large number of community events in the past. We also support the interpreting profession through supporting ASLI at a corporate level. We recognize that we have a privileged position as interpreters and, through our work, aim to acknowledge this.

The BSL Photography Project was developed under the partnership of a professional and qualified photographer and CommunityID. With this project we aimed to create job opportunities and work experience; as well as develop the creative mind of the participants. 6 Deaf people per year were selected to follow our monthly vocational programme and develop their technical skills and conceptual and creative abilities.

The Big Lottery funded project came to an end on the 30th June 2015. It was very successful and surpassed the original targets. The BSL Newsround will unfortunatley no longer be produced weekly for the time being. Hopefully, with additional project funding in future, we will be able to resume the BSL Newsround.
