Thursday, August 9, 2012. NOT Loving Cell Phone Companies. This may seem like an odd topic for a supposed environmentally conscious blog, but bear with me as I will find a way, perhaps weakly, to link it up. In the meantime I am frustrated and so will proceed to rant, possibly exaggerate, and make some ridiculous statements. Perhaps you will find this amusing, perhaps not, but I know that I will feel better when I am finished. So now I have authority to deal with my own phone. Yipee! Apparently there is ...

A Novice Ecologist: February 2013
http://noviceecologist.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 4, 2013. Battle of the Clothesline. I started this post many months ago and was inspired to finish when I looked out the window at my clothesline shivering in the winter wind, and dripping water from the accompanying rain. I am dreaming of warmer weather and determined to renew my outdoor drying efforts when the time comes. There's only one minor problem. Does anyone else have a restricted list for their clothesline? I am looking forward to the warm days of summer for many reasons. B...

A Novice Ecologist: Factory Farming: Dairy
http://noviceecologist.blogspot.com/2012/02/factory-farming-dairy.html
Monday, February 13, 2012. This post is long overdue and I started it with the intention of writing about both dairy cows and those raised for slaughter, but it took me longer than I thought it would to gather the information, and I was concerned about the length. This is my third post with regards to Factory Farming, the other two being Factory Farming: Chickens. And Factory Farming: Environmental Impact. Veal is the by-product of the dairy industry as cows must be pregnant to produce milk. Cows are not...

A Novice Ecologist: Factory Farming: Chickens
http://noviceecologist.blogspot.com/2011/08/factory-farming-chickens.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2011. As mentioned in my post "Factory Farming: Environmental Impact". I want to share some information I learned about the treatment of animals in the farming industry. Rather than throwing it out in one long post I have decided to break it up and cover the animals in separate groups. So for this post I will talk about chickens, both egg laying, and those raised for meat. And also the chooseveg.ca. Website include the following:. Battery cages in Guelph, Ontario.
