Skip to main content. Sounds of the Sea. For Heston Blumenthals restaurant The Fat Duck in Bray, we created an immersive, binaural sea-scape to accompany a dish of sashimi and edible tapioca ‘sand’. The sound is delivered to the table on an iPod hidden inside a conch shell. Guests listen to the sounds on headphones as they eat the dish. M and S / Westfield.

Skip to main content. 31/3/2014 - Russ Jones. We conducted a piece of research to prove that we can all tell the difference between the sound of hot, and the sound of cold. We recorded pouring different temperature liquids, from a set height and set pace, into various receptacles and asked people to guess which was hot, and which was cold. 96% of participants got it correct. For a second experiment we took recordings of water being poured. Listen to these sounds and see if you can tell which is which.
