XMPP/OSN Bindings
http://ipop-project.org/learn/xmpposn-bindings
In order to create a user-defined virtual network, it is necessary for users to establish who they want to link with in their virtual network, and to configure and deploy IPOP software on their devices. The figure illustrates the process for users to establish relationships, and how IPOP controllers utilizes XMPP infrastructure to establish TinCan links. This is done through an online social network interface – independently from using IPOP. Or based on groups (e.g. in IPOP’s GroupVPN.

Architecture overview
http://ipop-project.org/learn/architecture
The current IPOP architecture has the following layers and modules:. Discovery and notification layer:. IPOP peers discover and notify other peers and exchange endpoint information using an XMPP overlay. This is used for (small) notification messages, and allows users to connect to various existing XMPP-compliant social network infrastructures (e.g. Google’s Hangout, or a private ejabberd service). TinCan links and datapath layer:. This is the lowest-layer module. It interfaces with a virtual network...
