contemporary and needlelace

Monday, 7 September 2009. Bedfordshire lace collar, inspired by autumn leaves in a local arboretum. This was worked for my City and Guilds Diploma, and used threads which I hand dyed before using in the lace. Each leaf is a different colour to its neighbour, representing the fallen leaves in autumn. The design is asymmetrical, reflecting on the random nature of the leaves. Friday, 14 August 2009. Magnolia flowers, worked in bobbin lace and kumihimo techniques with wire. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
