A document of London artworld events, happenings, launches and shows, with occasional magazines. Thursday, October 26, 2006. Seventeen, Jerwood, Art Monthly. Would you say that's nerdy? I am talking to Graham Dolphin (above) at the opening of his show at Seventeen. But of course, it's not simply the cover, because scratched into the cardboard of it are the lyrics to all the songs on the album. Tiny, tiny script that goes from one side of the cover to the other. It must have taken months. I have to agree.

The Evening Standard runs an article about Cosi Fanni Tutti whose work is appearing in the Tate Triennial. Tino also has a piece in the show. The Standard, to give some context, refers to the ICA show thus: 'an ICA show where people can pay to have word whispered in their ear by the gallery bookshop manager.'. http://russellherron.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
A document of London artworld events, happenings, launches and shows, with occasional magazines. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. I'm getting absolutely thrashed here. Completely hammered. Stuffed. James Ford. Even smaller than Lena's. And she's a girl. But never mind. Because less than hour ago I saw James dressed in bra and panties, waving his long blonde hair about, dirty dancing with a big red bedbug and drawing on himself with a black maker pen. No, I don't mean - what I mean, is that tonight Sally has a d...

It's Samuel Beckett. It's John Bock. It's Steptoe and Son. It's genius. It's Graham Hudson on Chelsea Parade Ground. I knew he had been working there a few weeks and I knew he was building something. But nothing really prepared me for turning the corner and seeing.what? Tonight is food, drink and karaoke....

A document of London artworld events, happenings, launches and shows, with occasional magazines. Wednesday, August 23, 2006. He Wants to Make the World a Better Place. The place is filled with balloons. Occasionally one of them hits a pin on the wall or the ceiling and lets out a loud, unmistakable and satisfying balloon-going-pop big bang! Camera, a plastic glass of beer and Hector's glass of beer, I run into Dave Hoyland who introduces me to Francesca. Hi, there,' I say. And just before she goes off to...

A document of London artworld events, happenings, launches and shows, with occasional magazines. Thursday, March 30, 2006. Oh yes. It's the Beck's private view 2006 at the ICA and I absolutely love it! And so does Jens Hoffmann by the look of things above, no? Standing in front of Jamie Shovlin's work. 'Hi,' she says, 'have you seen this work? He is with our gallery.' I'm kind of already up with this information (is she hoping I'm looking to buy? The people from Guestroom. I do like this man. I often...

It's the party for the 60th anniversary of Gimpel Fils. Tonight and it's really hot. Really too hot. And it's especially hot downstairs, which is a real pain because not only is the bar down there (oh. Is down there too and it's one of my favourite pieces of work. That's it at the top of this posting. Good, huh? I see Martha Pym from the I...

A document of London artworld events, happenings, launches and shows, with occasional magazines. Saturday, September 30, 2006. Lunch at the Drive Thru. Now here's something I don't do very often. Hardly at all, in fact. I go and see a show. And I mean, I go and see it during one of the days that it's open - when it's quiet and there's no drink and there's no crowds and it's just a bunch of things in a room that look like art in an exhibition. It's Three Colts and a show called Drive Thru. John then offer...
