ConvoFS uses a lot of great open source software to accomplish its goals, including:. W/the DSD patches made by Computer Audiophile user ‘Mansr’. The Synology main binary package includes compiled binaries of the first group of products. The source distribution ships with corresponding sources. The Synology base package ship ships with selected binaries from “ArchLinux” packages. Refer to the ConvoFS web interface “about” tab for details.

ConvoFS run on Linux machines/Linux based Synology NAS devices and is implemented using the “FUSE” software for running file systems in user space. The core services (“daemons”) are written in the Perl language and the user interface is in PHP. To make things transparent, ConvoFS translates the byte offset of the read operation into a FLAC frame number and convolves that frame.
