Cookbook goodness reviews and trials

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials. Wednesday, 29 February 2012. Bill's Everyday Asian Cookbook Review. If you read some of my other entries in this blog you will see how much I love Bill Granger! So when there's a new Bill book, I'm there with my order. Doesn't mean I use the book straight away though! There's a useful pantry guide at the start of the book for those wanting to stock, items such as mirin, star anise and dashi powder. And oil. It sounded like the dish would be a little too sweet wit...

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials: August 2011

http://cookbookgoodness.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials. Tuesday, 30 August 2011. The Good Cook Cookbook Review. This book is well presented and has quirky chapter names like 'Big cow, little cow' and 'Ham, bacon and a little pig'. I definitely prefer the fish and vegetarian dishes over the full-on meat dishes such as the game and tripe recipes. It seems to be a slightly less adventurous version of his Roast Chicken book with lots more photos! By the time I'd made it I really didn't fancy eating it, plus it was horribly pi...

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials: Cox, Cookies and Cakes Cookbook Review

http://cookbookgoodness.blogspot.com/2011/09/cox-cookies-and-cakes-cookbook-review.html

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials. Tuesday, 27 September 2011. Cox, Cookies and Cakes Cookbook Review. During my cupcake filled visit to London last month I visted Cox, Cookies and Cakes which I wasn't too impressed with unfortunately. I've been sitting on the book for a while and it didn't fill me with confidence about the results. I love Eric Lanlard and the shows he does on Channel 4 so it was a shame that the cupcake I tried didn't live up to my expectations. Must be a librarian thing! The decorat...

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials. Tuesday, 29 March 2011. Baking Made Easy - Lorraine Pascale Cookbook Review. This week I was testing out Baking Made Easy by Lorraine Pascale. Having enjoyed her television series I went to borrow the book from my local library. After leafing through I promptly went out to buy my own copy! Heavy and boring and really not worth the price. I didn't return on my last London trip. Probably isn't a revelation to many of you foodies but I was impressed! Though they weren't...

Cookbook goodness reviews and trials. Tuesday, 12 April 2011. The National Cookbook Review. This week I'm reviewing The National Cookbook: Recipes from the National Dining Rooms at The National Gallery by Oliver Peyton. Quite excitingly this one is signed! The book is really nice quality and is a good size. The recipes aren't intimidating and there an awful lot of recipes I'd want to make. That's why I've made a few more dishes than usual from this book, which in itself is a good sign! The Pumpkin, Spina...
