Friday, July 17, 2015. Crunchy and salty - what's not to love? I made a lovely little soup for dinner the other night, using up a pile of vegetables about to hit their expiry date. These petite and crunchy little breadsticks were a big winner and I was thankful I had doubled the recipe! Being an almost daily baker, I have thoroughly enjoyed making my way through the bread recipes. I only have three left to cook in a chapter I will definitely be sad to see the back of. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. 128/656 - Chocolate and almond cake. This cake was the fulfilment of a promise I made to the kids for something sweet tonight. Apparently it is based on the French classic. Cake which of course sounds incredibly exotic and made it very hard to resist giving it a try. I made the almond meal and the castor sugar in the Thermomix although as per usual I over-blitzed the sugar and had a lovely sugary cloud following me around the kitchen. 127/656 - Rosemary and polenta pan bread.

Cook's Comments on Culture. LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO EAT WELL. G is for Grapefruit. I can’t get enough of citrus. Grapefruit is a particular favourite as the large, juicy wedges provide a mouthful of sweet, sour, and always juicy flesh (Yes, this also reminds me of Golum). Despite this, I have struggled to find it making a regular appearance in recipes as the principal ingredient. Grapefruit is an excellent source of Vitamin A. They are all delicious. For my grapefruit recipe. 1 rosemary sprig, 7 inches.

Sunday, March 18, 2018. 598/1038 - Prawn (in lieu of rock lobster) oil. Where has this fabulous concoction been all my life? Loving this prawn oil so much has had me lamenting all of the prawn heads I have discarded over the years. Making it was so very easy and the number of meals we have eaten with the oil is still growing! My favourite was spaghetti, well coated with prawn oil and topped with loads of fresh tomato, rocket and freshly cracked black pepper. So very good. Simmering with the vegetables.
