The boat really flew and handled well with the larger engine. Although the 40 would have been fast enough for normal use. I’m just a bit of a speed freak! Deck upside down on building jig. Cutting to shape. The worst job by far. Bonding the hull sheets. More detail of hull sheets. Final sheet going on. Laying on the Fiber mat. Sanding the first coat.

Now came the messy part (I hated this part and was glad when it was finished) I had purchased blocks of polystyrene from the local builder’s merchant. I cut them roughly to size and fitted them to the deck with waterproof mastic. The polystyrene goes into little balls which stick on everything and go everywhere. Get them in the house at your peril! Sci Fi and Fantasy Art. Sci Fi and Fantasy Art. Chines and Hull Fibre Glassing. I filleted the joints between the chines and the hull to make a nice smooth transition and then sanded the whole assembly down again. (I hate sanding! Make sure you use a dust mask when sanding because epoxy and wood dust will not do you any good. Once it was epoxied into place I found it very difficult to sand smooth. It is almost impossible to do anything with it! I suppose that is why they make bulletproof vests of it).
