Thursday, September 15, 2011. Daniel B. Trimper and his wife Margaret arrived in Ocean City Maryland in 1890. By 1893 they owned the property between South Division and South First Streets on the boardwalk including two hotels: the Sea Bright and the Eastern Shore. After a severe storm in 1900 they rebuilt the Sea Bright. Labels: Ocean City Maryland. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Life's a journey. Make everyday count. Friday, July 15, 2011. Baltimore City Farmer's Market. Oh so red radishes. I can never seem to pass up a thyme plant. A basket of mixed mushrooms. This lettuce was yummy. Blue crabs, a Baltimore tradition. If you power the blender yourself on the bike you save a dollar. I chose a banana, mango, ginger smoothie and it was wonderful. I have to get some of this next time. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. This is where the Shenandoah River empties into the Potomac River. The Shendoah River and the Potomac Rivers.

Kathy's Travels: March 2013
http://kathy-kathystravels.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 22, 2013. It so happened that our ship was to be in Naples on George's birthday. I decided to buy for him a private tour of the Amalfi Coast. I booked it in advance with Sorrento Topcar. We were picked up at 8:30 AM at the port by Julia and taken on a wonderful tour of Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. The day was just ever the bit foggy, but it seemed to lend to the feeling of mystical loveliness. Of course there were lemons and Limoncello and just about everthing lemon everywhere for sale....

Kathy's Travels: July 2014
http://kathy-kathystravels.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 5, 2014. On our Earthwatch expedition we were lucky to be stationed aboard the Ayapua, a restored rubber boom era ship with many parts reclaimed from the ship used in the filming of the movie Fitzcarraldo. It was originally built in Brazil and used to carry rubber out of the Amazon. To be on such a historically important ship was a treat in itself. After our trip the ship was to be used in the marine museum in Iquitos. Here are a few pictures of my home for two weeks. Stairways up and down.

http://kathy-kathystravels.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 10, 2014. Asa Wright Nature Center, Trinidad. For me this place was paradise. I was able to see 130 species, 44 of which were Life Birds. The center also offered excursions to other locations with excellent local guides. We went to Caroni Swamp to watch the spectacle of thousands of Scarlet Ibis coming to roost for the night. We took a trip to the Nariva Swamp and also along the Blanchisseuse Road to the beaches of Manzanilla and Blanchisseuse. Labels: Asa Wright Nature Center.

Kathy's Travels: October 2010
http://kathy-kathystravels.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 30, 2010. I don't know if I have been watching too much Ghost Adventures on the Travel Channel or not, but this entrance to an old mine at Soldier's Delight looks pretty scary to me. I wouldn't have wanted to go underground in this old shaft. The park itself was beautiful and I plan on going back in the spring to do a wildflower walk. Sunday, October 3, 2010. Ringing Rocks Park, Bucks County PA. Click on pictures for a larger view). You can see that many of these boulders are very large.
