We celebrated Tane Mahuta Day. We had a good look at all the beautiful trees at Hamilton East School. We looked at the leaves. We looked at the trunk and touched the bark. We threw the leaves in the air. The Redwood tree is massive. We think it is awesome. Katie says the Redwood tree is taller than her Dad. Room 10 @ HES.

The harvest festival was yummy because we got to try heaps of food. It was fun because we were with lots of other classes. There were silverbeet rolls and roti. We ate sunflower seeds. They tasted like peanut butter. There was a chilli tomato sauce with flat bread. It was spicy. There were beans as well. Room 10 @ HES.

Hamilton East School Enviro. We are an Enviro School. This is where we show the great learning we do in, for and about our environment. Thursday, April 2, 2015. Pizza - Room 6. We visited the garden today for the Hamilton East School Harvest Festival. We collected basil, a capsicum and tomatoes from the garden. We washed the produce and then we put them on our pizza. We also put some cheese on. We made the mozzarella cheese yesterday. It is going to be delicious. What do you like to eat on pizza?

Hamilton East School Enviro. We are an Enviro School. This is where we show the great learning we do in, for and about our environment. Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Room 15 made a fantastic movie about Tane Mahuta. Our class (Room 15) learnt about the giant Kauri tree called Tane Mahuta. It is very old but we don't know exactly how old it is. Tane Mahuta is somewhere between 1,250 and 2,500 years old! It lives up north in the Waipoua forest. Here is a video showing what we found out. Room 6 visits Putikitiki.
