Sandra Eterovic: The last couple of weeks....!
http://sandraeterovic.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-last-couple-of-weeks.html
Tuesday, 30 June 2015. The last couple of weeks! I am sorry that I haven't posted over the last two weeks. Today I feel just like Michael in my latest Gardening Australia. Wanting to huddle from the cold. It is FREEZING in the studio today! I took this photo above. Of my hallway about a week ago, on a particularly cold morning. I must admit that the bright colours warmed me up a little. Having piles of boards at the studio makes me feel like I am being busy and productive. Ha! Sunset at the studio. Ohhhh...

Little Bird, Big Chip: September 2014
http://littlebirdbigchip.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 10, 2014. In the words of Marvin Gaye."Whats goin' on". It has been so busy around these parts I don't even know where to begin! You know all those lines I had in? All those little nibbles waiting ever so patiently? Well as luck would have it.ALL the bites are in! I thought I would be lucky to get just one. Surprise, it's all the bites! I know now to embrace change and I know what i do want out of employment be it part time or full. Most days I don't even stop for lunch! Well, alrigh...

Little Bird, Big Chip: May 2014
http://littlebirdbigchip.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 4, 2014. Big Hearted Business and my crush on Clare Bowditch (just like the 499 others in the room) and trying NOT to cry in front of 500. So what makes Clare so special? Never had I been in a place where people are so friendly! You could just start up a conversation, Hi! Fuck this we are out of here, but i subdued her with a gummy bear and we listened) She kinda had that american (even though she's canadian) self help-y thing about her but she was pretty raw and she swore a lot so I liked he...

Little Bird, Big Chip: End of an era
http://littlebirdbigchip.blogspot.com/2015/05/end-of-era.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. End of an era. On Wednesday the 13. 8220;Theres no crying in glass blowing”, that’s just one of the gems we have come up with over the years. Another personal favourite is, “Make what look like what to look like what? 8221;, or “back in my day I we blew 16hrs a day 8 days a week” and who can forget the call and response “your’e good”. 8220;and youre pretty”.We have built our own hilarious language together and I am going to miss that idiot so much. Little Bird, Big Chip. Aspects of ...

Little Bird, Big Chip: My (Unsuccessful) Austco Application
http://littlebirdbigchip.blogspot.com/2015/06/my-unsuccessful-austco-application.html
Monday, June 8, 2015. My (Unsuccessful) Austco Application. Here we go again. Travelling a billion miles across the ocean to learn some more about glass. You would be surprised how many of us do it. I think this winter there will be a mass exodus from the Adelaide glass community alone. Seems like everybody is taking a class. I am travelling all the way to North Carolina. Yeehaw! I’m pretty good at beating myself up about things,. That shit is awesome! I’ll tell you what’s not awesome though ...It is an ...

Sandra Eterovic: Around the place this week
http://sandraeterovic.blogspot.com/2015/05/around-place-this-week.html
Monday, 18 May 2015. Around the place this week. Illustration for The Big Picture, Gardening Australia. June issue. Michael is happy to accept that severe frosts mean that there's only one winter annual for him. A lovely ol' blue eye. A portrait commission in progress. And here: a kind-of self portrait in progress, 1991. (As in, the portrait is me in 1991, not painted in 1991.). Sandra, that could well be a portrait of you today; you havent changed a bit (except for getting wiser:-). 19 May 2015 at 09:45.

Sandra Eterovic: February 2015
http://sandraeterovic.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 23 February 2015. Home textiles and a home made textile. There is a rather big pile of cushions in the front room at the moment, along with the Svenskt. Fabric that my mum so generously brought back for me from Stockholm, some Indonesian batik, and Angela Dalinger cushion with a naked man on it. And a doona/ duvet cover made from my sewing and op shop left overs. Below:. Thursday, 12 February 2015. New things in the shop; and a gift for a friend. The last of the painted table tennis bats! New cus...

Sandra Eterovic: Frankie magazine cover.
http://sandraeterovic.blogspot.com/2015/06/frankie-magazine-cover.html
Tuesday, 2 June 2015. Sock design - tick. Editorial illustration - tick. CD cover art - tick. I can't cross this off my bucket list though, because the idea that I would ever have an illustration on the front cover of a magazine was too incredible. But - ta da! Here she is. I can hardly believe it. (I plan on roaming newsagents around the country for the next two months, just to make sure that I am not dreaming.). I am hugely grateful to Sophie Kalagas and the team at Frankie. 2 June 2015 at 10:59. And n...

fieldguided: ceramics by katia carletti
http://blog.fieldguided.com/2015/03/ceramics-by-katia-carletti.html
Ceramics by katia carletti. A few weeks ago I received a lovely package in the mail from Australia (thanks, Lauren) filled with beautiful trinkets and treasures, including seashells and crystals. Included in the package was a small plate by Katia Carletti. And I thought it was so pretty I had to look up her work. I love the patterns! Stating the obvious, but there is so much incredible work coming out of Australia! She doesn't have a personal site, but I found some of her pieces for sale at Association.

Little Bird, Big Chip: Penland dreams turned reality
http://littlebirdbigchip.blogspot.com/2015/06/penland-dreams-turned-reality.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. Penland dreams turned reality. Never have I been to a place that is so lush and green! It was truly stunning, an amazing place to learn. As soon as I got there, I was like;. I was fortunate enough to receive a full scholarship to attend Amber Cowan's flame working class. This meant full tuition, board and meals all covered. All I had to do was pay for the flight. It was mindblowingly generous. Without this generosity I would not have been able to attend. So I wanted to go because I...
