Country Captures: March 2015
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Down on the farm everybody is nose to nose! The spring has brought the wood frogs to the vernal pools to spawn. Nose to nose, this pair seem particularly interested in one another. A pair of young calves pause to nuzzle a moment before returning to cavorting about the pasture. Being ready to capture special moments can make the difference between snapshots and memorable photographs. Links to this post. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Spring Time Creek Sitting. Links to this post. Country Captures: April 2015
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Arrival of New Life on the Farm. A good friend recently e-mailed asking if everything was alright. He lives quite a few states away and became concerned when he noticed that Country Captures had not been updated since March 31st. Frankly time had slipped away without me realizing that nearly a month had passed since I had last shared with you. This post is one example of the reasons why I have neglected the blog in the past months. Links to this post. View my complete profile.

Country Captures: Look Ma, No Hands!
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2015/05/look-ma-no-hands.html
Sunday, May 17, 2015. Look Ma, No Hands! Wildlife babies can be quite entertaining as they explore their fresh new world. An otherwise uneventful morning change for the better when a young fox squirrel followed its mother to the feeder. The little squirrel busied itself climbing trees and hopping around while the mother stuffed herself at the feeder. That second image is my favorite. Sun May 17, 05:47:00 PM EDT. Sun May 17, 06:56:00 PM EDT. The little scamps - cute photos, Coy! Thu May 21, 10:10:00 AM EDT.
Country Captures: Long Shot
http://countrycaptures.blogspot.com/2012/01/long-shot.html
Monday, January 09, 2012. 1/250, f8, ISO 100. On a crisp clear January evening it is difficult to fathom that 238,857 miles separates the earth and moon. For centuries people have gazed at our nearest heavenly neighbor while imprisoned on this sphere we call earth. We are told that our astronauts visited here five times between 1969 and 1972. If this is true why have we allowed 39 years to pass without another lunar landing? Been there; done that; got the t-shirt. :). Gorgeous shot, coy! The Art of Elk P...

The South Dakota Snow's: Wait! What is that?????
http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2015/07/wait-what-is-that.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Driving home for work last night a saw a sight one just does not expect to see on I-90. We are just to low. Not sure he even noticed them! Three Big Horn Sheep ewes, with one lamb. Two of the ewes were collared, but I couldn't tell on the third. The crazy part is that this is just over the hill from our house. Wouldn't it be cool to have big horn sheep on our place? The South Dakota Snow's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Coast, September 2015. Harbour Island, April 2012.

https://forestandfield.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-wee-lassie.html
In Forest and Field. The observations and opinions of a life-long naturalist. Wednesday, July 22, 2015. In the early 1880s a shoemaker from Wellsboro, Pennsylvania made a series of canoe trips in New York’s Adirondack Mountains. From The Adirondack Museum. I have a Wee Lassie-style canoe built. When all the st...

Ocmulgee River Clean Up. Two very cool little items were found.the first being this tiny ceramic miniature pitcher. It appeared to be old, but who knows? Saturday, December 30, 2017. Wrapping up 2017, Down on the Farm. As 2017 draws to a close new life arrived on the Hill Farm. Fairy went into labor around noon yesterday. As the afternoon wore on I became concerned that she wasn't progressing well and a check revealed that she was attempting to birth a very large calf. Again it was time for the chains and after perhaps half an hour of assisting her through her contractions Frosty arrived! And Baby Jane is wintering well also. Even if the hit isn't quickly...

Country Caravan
Thursday, August 1, 2013. Diary of an Upstairs Neighbor. Sunday, 5:58 am. Oh, Good Lord, I overslept again! Hate when that happens. I feel like I've wasted the whole day. And just look at this place. What a mess. But, what can I expect? It's been a whole 10 hours since I last vacuumed for most of the day. Better get to work quick, since I've got my at-home Stomping class at 9:00 and then I have to lay on the floor and groan for awhile. Ugh - so much to do! Sunday, 7:32 am. Sunday, 10:10 am.
