Homemaking Joy: Green Bean and Marigold Farmer
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/06/green-bean-and-marigold-farmer.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Saturday, June 20, 2015. Green Bean and Marigold Farmer. Beans, pepper, beans, pepper, pepper, tomato, marigold, marigold. The beans at the far left, more recently planted than the beans in the middle, after the pepper that was in it bit the dust. As all these plants progress, it seems I maybe should be a green bean and marigold farmer. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Green Bean and Marigold Farmer. Blogs I Love to Visit. Homemaking Joy: December 2013
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Monday, December 16, 2013. Look what I got. Yesterday in Sunday School, a gal shared some delicious coffee cake for a treat while we studied. After class, she gave me a "starter" of the Friendship Bread that the coffee cake was made from. So now I'm on schedule to "mush" the bag for 9 days, add more stuff on one of those days, then bake a yummy loaf of bread on the 10th day. Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Made these the other night, sure didn't last long!

http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2015/06/sprouting-and-blooming.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Saturday, June 13, 2015. Despite my "no-green-thumb," I'm determined to try to grow SOMETHING this summer. And though stuff got started awfully late, here's part of the recent things that got planted/transplanted (photos today, except marigolds from yesterday):. Green beans - JUST sprouted. Homemaking Joy: May 2015
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Monday, May 25, 2015. Drying Out the Salt. With all the rain we've had, it's super-humid, both indoors and out. Our salt shaker got plumb clogged. I emptied it, washed it, dried it, and filled it with fresh salt. Except you could tell the salt in the bigger container was suffering the effects of humidity, and clumping a little. Sunday, May 24, 2015. Tomatoes (front) and peppers (back). One pepper plant even has a bloom! Then I put some starts of "assorted flowe...

Homemaking Joy: September 2013
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Friday, September 13, 2013. Old-time "Laundre 'Receet' ". Laundre Receet" from about 1870 - author unknown. This is interesting, considering the "laundry woes" in this house for the last 2 months. I do count my blessings. :). 1 Build fire in back yard to heat kettle of rainwater. 2 Set tubs so smoke won't blow in eyes if wind is pert. 3 Shave one whole cake of lye soap in biling water. 5 Stir flour in cold water to smooth, then thin down with biling water.

Homemaking Joy: April 2014
http://homemakingjoy.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Yesterday's reflections, today's happiness. Monday, April 28, 2014. I drove in some sprinkles on the way home. Came into town, and everything looked drenched, like the main part of that shower went right through town. As I pulled up to the house . there they were, my towels on the line! I was prepared to use the dryer, but instead was just able to fold them and put them away. "WHEW" But I'm really not upset about it . we need the rain awfully bad! And we're thankful for every drop, praise God.
