Country Stencils: Shaker Tree-Claire's Idea
http://countrystencils.blogspot.com/2009/06/shaker-tree-claires-idea.html
Saturday, June 13, 2009. Thanks to Claire Brennan I got the idea to put little red beads on the tree. I tried to make it look as good as her but she really has that special touch. I used our greetings stencil on the bottom "Thinking of You". That stencil is great because you can personalize all of the cards you make with it. See Claire's sample too in the link below-she's so creative! Saturday, June 13, 2009. June 13, 2009 at 7:46 PM. Your card looks fab Julie! I love your samples for quilt show too!

Thursday, 11 June 2009. Apples, red apples. I received some more fantastic stencils from Country Stencils. The other week and only got the chance to actually use one yesterday - I love this Shaker, Tree of Life stencil - it's the smaller one in case you need to get one. My favourite thing to do with these stencils is to 'print' with them using my cuttlebug. See how here. I used Versacolour Bamboo ink to print the main image and then added some glossy red apples in the form of page pebbles! Another beauti...

Kathy's Magic Window: November 2014
http://kathysmagicwindow.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2014. The day before Halloween I went to the grocery store to buy a pumpkin to carve and couldn't find one except the giant display one. I asked the produce manager, and he said, "We're all out. But I'll sell you the display one for $10." So that is how we ended up with a 50 lb pumpkin. I cut the pumpkin into good-sized chunks and steamed it on the stove until it was tender and then removed the skin. So not a bad weekend's work. However, I have to confess that that big old 50 ...

Kathy's Magic Window: January 2014
http://kathysmagicwindow.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 20, 2014. Today it was a beautiful, sunny day in the mid-60's. We went for a long walk and enjoyed the weather after all the bitter cold days we have had lately. I've been thinking about needing to start in on my yard and gardening tasks for the spring, and decided to take on a little spring-related project. I got this wooden bunny basket at the local Goodwill a few years ago. I loved the shape of it, but the dark brown wood with murky blue painted stripes was icky to say the least. In Fr...

Kathy's Magic Window: July 2013
http://kathysmagicwindow.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 13, 2013. Didn't take a picture of this, unfortunately, since I was just experimenting and didn't know if this would turn out ok. This version of the old favorite is definitely tangy rather than sweet. 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese. 1 4-oz jar pimientos. 1/4 cup cream cheese. 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce. 1/2 tsp ground cayenne pepper. 1/4 tsp garlic salt. 1/4 tsp onion powder.
