http://spideronsports.blogspot.com/2013/04/blue-jackets-predators-game-journal.html
Friday, April 5, 2013. Blue Jackets - Predators Game Journal. 1:31 am – “broadcast” underway. Couldn’t get CBJ version to work at first, then waited for food to finish. 1:32 – if you’re curious, my provisions include chicken and cheese taquitos, some weird garlic cheese bread thing and Leinenkugel Summer Shandy. 1:32 – “traditional” road whites, says Rimer…I remember when you wore white at home. 1:34 – great chance for Umberger, gotta hit the net. 1:55 – first on-bench interview, if you can call it...

Spider on Sports: Columbus Blue Jackets 2011-12 Preview/Ramblings
http://spideronsports.blogspot.com/2011/10/columbus-blue-jackets-2011-12.html
Thursday, October 13, 2011. Columbus Blue Jackets 2011-12 Preview/Ramblings. Yes, I realize four games isn't a huge sample size, but I've at least seen the team play and can form some of my own opinions, rather than re-hashing what I read online. Just think of this as part preview, part review(yes, that is the tag line from my days working on Bobcat Blitz, I'm sure everyone's familiar with it). But Burrows got multiple whacks at the puck a foot from the goal.shocking that he scored. Again, Mason has defi...

Spider on Sports: Quick CBJ Thoughts
http://spideronsports.blogspot.com/2010/09/quick-cbj-thoughts.html
Monday, September 20, 2010. It's times like this I wish I worked in journalism. What? Often From what I've read, a few very interesting stories are already developing after the first few days that have started to put me in the hockey mood. Kris Russell sprains his knee. Testing a young gun line. Yep Is Commodore's more than he's worth? Turns out my thoughts ran a little longer than I thought, and we're not even a week into training camp.I really like hockey. Spider on Sports: November 2009

Monday, November 9, 2009. 2008-09 Top Ten: #1 - The Columbus Blue Jackets. When I decided to do this top ten countdown, there were a few items that I knew would be on the list, and some more that I had to dig for. Not only that, but it also took some time to finalize the order of the countdown. The one spot that was never in doubt, though, was at the top. He never looked back. Without Mason, the Blue Jackets would not have made the run they did last season. While they were still deeper than years pas...

Spider on Sports: March 2011
http://spideronsports.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 5, 2011. This may seem like an incredibly late reaction to something that happened last July, but I bring it up only as an example of how invested fans can be in sports. I mean, people were burning LeBron jerseys in the streets when this guy announced he was leaving. You have to really care about a team to react that strongly when you think it got screwed over. The fourth game of that series is, thus far, the most incredible live sporting event I've ever experienced. But this is for me).

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Stanley Cup Playoffs: 1st Round Recap/2nd Round Preview. With that being said, here are my thoughts from the first round of this season's postseason and a look ahead to the second round (yes, I'm aware the first game of the second round has already started). Best Series: Vancouver - Los Angeles. Runner-up: San Jose - Colorado. Biggest Disappointment: Washington's 7-game exit. Runner-up: Martin Brodeur and the Devils. Biggest Surprise: Phoenix pushing Detroit to the limit.

Thursday, October 22, 2009. 2008-09 Top Ten: #3 - Team Self-Esteem Wins the Kevin Hunt Memorial. I didn't want to go this whole countdown without including a personal achievement. Unfortunately, I didn't have too many opportunities during the past year to make some noise on the playing field. There was one weekend in early April, though, when my partner and I dominated play on the beer pong table. Sure enough, Shane and Joe cruised through their loser's bracket game against Justin and Dan and we met agai...
