Life as a Serrano-Karwoski. Antes Que Te Vayas Dame Un Beso. December 23, 2010. The Serranos celebrated Christmas on Friday, December 17, 2010 . The twinkies drove in from Indy that day (the start of their Winter Break and mine! That was a fun celebration. Michaela joined us as her flight home left from O’Hare the following day. We ate, exchanged gifts, played Farkle, laughed, hugged, laughed some more, sang, and hung out for hours. Buckley and the girls. Michaela, Twinkies, and Buckley. December 21, 2010.

wandering and wondering: One Year
http://caraandwinston.blogspot.com/2011/03/one-year.html
All those who wander are not lost. Where would I get treatment? What kind of treatment would I receive? When would I start? How do I tell my friends? How do I tell my students? Can I still teach during treatment? But the most important decision I had to make, the most important question that needed an answer was How am I going to deal with this? I can truthfully say that. I live a full, rich life, and I have done so for ALL of my 32 years. So there, cancer. Showed you. Cara, you amaze me. I have tear...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Thursday, June 26, 2014. Lucas Meets his Great-Grandma and Family! I was so worried about the flight but this little guy was perfect! But Lucas was so good. He was smiling at everyone on the flight. To the point where it was awkward because he wouldn't look away from people, just smiling and entertaining them! He did finally fall asleep.on the descent! He slept about 10 minutes of the entire flight.but oh he was such a happy little baby, I didn't care one bit! Celebra...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Friday, May 22, 2015. Low Key Week - Lucas' 1st Ear Infection and Volunteering at the Nursing Home. Pretty low-key week we've had! Busy weekend with date night on Friday, then a birthday/going away party on Saturday. Sunday I ran 5 miles along the reservoir ans Jason brought Cooper and Lucas for a walk which made the run a lot more fun. It was way hillier than I had hoped.seriously is there anywhere that is flat in Colorado for me to get a good run in? Jason made a si...

wandering and wondering: Pro Humanitate... in high school?
http://caraandwinston.blogspot.com/2009/02/pro-humanitate-in-high-school.html
All those who wander are not lost. Pro Humanitate. in high school? I will tell everyone who wants to listen (and even some who don't) about how much I love my job. I get to teach some of the coolest kids around in a school where the teachers care about teaching and the administrators work tirelessly to make sure that we have everything we need to do our jobs well. Tonight was a really good example of why I love my students and our school. Stephen stole a line from Maryland! That is SO great! These are a ...

Meanderings from a Higher Elevation: 1/2 Marathon Training Lessons
http://meanderingsfromahigherelevation.blogspot.com/2015/07/12-marathon-training-lessons.html
Meanderings from a Higher Elevation. Tuesday, July 7, 2015. 1/2 Marathon Training Lessons. The actual race I remember being nervous before hand. I remember finding my coral and running over the start line. I remember seeing Jason about three times during the race, each time me spotting him which I still think is funny! I know my time for the race was 2:22 and that has really messed with my training for THIS half marathon! Now imagine doing 5 miles.round and round and round and round! Its just been SO HARD.

We just did a 3,000 mile (round tip) road trip.longest road trip for me by far and obviously longest for Lucas and we had a great time! Who'd have thought I'd survive? And who'd have thought a 7 month old would be so much fun on a road trip? It was such a whirlwind of activities but so much fun! Wow, did we do a lot in those 13 days on the road! Saturday, August 2, 2014. It's been really crazy busy but a...
