Omly Crafts: Stained Glass Tree Mural
http://omly.blogspot.com/2015/06/stained-glass-tree-mural.html
Saturday, June 06, 2015. Stained Glass Tree Mural. After running an errand this morning, I opted to walk home rather than take the bus. As a result I stumbled across a woman named Crystal painting a public mural in one of my local parks. When I inquired about taking a photo (which she graciously said yes), I was also invited to help paint. How awesome! This is where she started the day:. The plan was to have the community help add the color so that it started to look like this:. Posted by omly at 10:20 PM.

Omly Crafts: Sketching outside Patagonia
http://omly.blogspot.com/2015/06/sketching-outside-patagonia.html
Sunday, June 07, 2015. Today I had help getting my daily sketch done. There was a bored little one outside a local Patagonia store which we were waiting to have open. With 5 minutes still until opening, her mom was looking frazzled, I invited the little to help me do some art while we waited. So I didn't agonize over the details and worked to emulate her example. Omly Crafts: December 2006
http://omly.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 29, 2006. I have a great love for books. I also get a great deal of enjoyment from knitting. The two together were destined! It may be surprising then that my knitting library is fairly small. The first book I got was Stitch 'N Bitch. The second book I bought was Stitch N' Bitch Nation. After I made my first pair of socks I bought Sensational Knitted Socks. Next I bought Knitting Nature. I admit I was swayed by how much Grumperina. Socks, Socks, Socks. Came next. There are a number o...

Omly Crafts: White-breasted Nuthatch
http://omly.blogspot.com/2013/01/white-breasted-nuthatch.html
Sunday, January 27, 2013. Unfortunately I did not manage to get a drawing done for last week's Illustration Friday prompt (myth) due to Arisia. I do still plan on doing it though, but it seemed like a better idea to put up this week's prompt (wings) first. Today Majes and I saw a number of small white-breasted nuthatches. Over by the Sheepfold in the Fells. They are quite small but they have big voices and lots of personality. I can relate. Posted by omly at 6:18 PM. So beautiful and delicate. I always h...

Omly Crafts: Green-headed Tanager
http://omly.blogspot.com/2015/06/green-headed-tanager.html
Wednesday, June 10, 2015. I have enjoyed working on bird drawings before, like the white-breasted. 160;a while back. So I am bemused that it has been so long since I did any. Yesterday I pulled out colored pencils to work on a green-headed tanager. Color! I wonder at what point do you ever think, "Nah, its cool. I totally have enough colored pencils." Fortunately I have a decent collection in this color range. Posted by omly at 10:36 AM. View my complete profile. Seven of Hearts Socks.

Omly Crafts: Stripley socklets
http://omly.blogspot.com/2015/07/stripley-socklets.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. A project I did not even had time to mention before finishing them was this pair of quick socklets for myself. I had needed a no-brainer project and so had cast-on this pair from a single unloved 50g ball of self-striping in my stash. Yarn: mystery wool-nylon blend. Needles: US 1 / 2.5 mm. Pattern: Riverbed Master Pattern with heel modifications (see below). Pattern Source: New Pathways for Sock Knitters by Cat Bordhi. Then I made a small heel turn and added short rows. The ...

I'd Rather be Knitting: March 2007

I'd Rather be Knitting. A Journal of My Knitterly Life. Friday, 30 March 2007. 2 Finished Objects in March. These were finished before Ivy hit the pins (she is 'otn' on her own, I promise! First up is a shawl-collared gilet in Sirdar Spree in Faded Denim from Kemps. Bought for £1.50, before they reduced it to just 69p a ball! I found the lovely buttons in my LYS. The owner has a strange sales technique and looked at me in amazement when I said I wanted 5."you want 5, they're 40p each? And finally, becaus...
