Crafty-Sue

Friday, 7 March 2014. I made this small bag using a remnant of heavy satin from a bridal fabrics shop. I used the pattern and instructions from The Perfect Handmade Bag by Clare Youngs. It is lovely and I use it a lot but I have found the opening a little small and awkward for getting things out of. I had lots of mother of pearl buttons I had bought on eBay, and a pinky beige. Satin skirt I'd saved for the fabric. I really like this bigger version and it was very well received. Friday, 21 February 2014.

Crafty-Sue: January 2014

http://crafty-sue.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 28 January 2014. I had a nice piece of Minky fabric left over from the baby blanket so I decided to make a toy. I love the combined soft toy and blankets that little ones carry around, and after a bit of research I decided on the Funny Bunny Baby Blanket by favecrafts.com. I printed off the pattern and followed the very clear instructions. I decided to use satin for the nose, ears and the back of the blanket as it is a lovely contrast in texture to the minky. Crafty-Sue: Minky cot blankets

http://crafty-sue.blogspot.com/2014/01/minky-cot-blankets.html

Sunday, 26 January 2014. When my daughter was pregnant I was desperate to start making things for my first grandchild. My first project was a blanket, using minky fabric and nursery print flannel. I ordered them both online. I used the full width of the flannel, which was 112 cm or 45 inches, and cut to the same length. It is big enough for a cot. My hope is that it will become a favourite comforter as Teddy grows. I found tipnut.com very useful for ideas for the blankets finish. All the mums love them.

Friday, 21 February 2014. We bought Teddy a paddling pool on holiday which also has an inflatable ripple effect on the base for added comfort. It was less than £5 and we bathed him in it as well. ( There was only a shower available). The crèche had a ball pit which he loved so I looked around for the balls to buy. These were £4.99 for 100 from Argos. As you can see he loves it, throwing them around and trying to eat them! A cheap, versatile game. Thursday, 6 February 2014. The free pattern was from.

Wednesday, 21 March 2018. I have a quick little thank you card-I painted black card with Aztec silver metallic paint and two sizes of Bee from Chocolate Baroque-the negative part from a Gummiapan die-cut as a frame which I doodled round edges, stamped thank you was a craft mag freebie and the two fussy cut Bees were recycled from a greetings card-everything put onto 3-D sticky pads. Thursday, April 1, 2010. My second grade class read the story "Mushroom In the Rain" and then put on a mini play for parents! Several students acted out animals from the story and the rest of the class picked out other small animals to act out. The students made the clouds, rain drops hanging from the ceiling, sun and litghening bolt. I made drew the mushroom and taped it on the board. What a fun time we all had, not just decorating the room but preforming for our parents! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
