Crafty and Cunning: June 2011
http://craftyandcunning.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Adventures in Arts and Crafts. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Time to resurrect the blog! I don't know why I ever let this blog fall by the wayside! I've been more artsy/craftsy over the past 2 years than ever before in my life, but then again, I've also been more busy too. Hmmm, let's seen what's happened since my last post in 2009! Well first of all, I started The Visual Arts Program at Memorial University: Grenfell Campus. I will be going in to third year this September! I'm already half way through! They c...
Crafty and Cunning: February 2009
http://craftyandcunning.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Adventures in Arts and Crafts. Tuesday, February 24, 2009. Baby shower stuff OR How I made a sweater, and did intarsia all in one week! My friends Brooke and Pat recently had a baby boy! The baby shower is today so when I got the invite last Tuesday I thought I’d take the opportunity to knit something small and baby-y! I found two hat patterns that I thought were pretty neat-o, and I really wanted to try them both, so I decided on two hats, two pairs of matching booties and a hoodie! I found a few things...
Crafty and Cunning: December 2008
http://craftyandcunning.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Adventures in Arts and Crafts. Thursday, December 11, 2008. My adorable boy : The Multi-purpose Elf Hat. In my opinion, the one shining element of the costume was the green elf hat that I knit. I found a skein of green yarn that I liked in a clearance bin at Zellers, it didn't even have a label, so I have no idea what it is, just that it's some sort of acrylic. Mystery yarn! It's green." To which he said "It needs a poofy ball on it! From Hyrulian Elf to North Pole Elf in a matter of minutes! Now he's we...
Crafty and Cunning: Haille's Magic Unicorn Hat!!!
http://craftyandcunning.blogspot.com/2009/01/hailles-magic-unicorn-hat.html
Adventures in Arts and Crafts. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Haille's Magic Unicorn Hat! Last Saturday my friend Angie and I decided to take our kiddo's out in the snow to go sliding. We went to the park and had a blast sliding down the hill on tubes and plastic slides. There were a bunch of people there with their kids, and what a great hill! Kids were flying down there taking spills into snowbanks! I'm a big fan of earflap hats. They're just so darn cute, so the basis of the hat was an earflap hat, kn...

Monday, December 20, 2010. A Lazy Year Posting! Sunset in Varadero, Cuba. Fishing Shacks in Rose Blanche. The now "closed down" town of Grand Bruit. Note the waterfall right in the center of town! Wow, its been a full year that I have not posted to my blog! I am surprised "blogger" hasn't deleted me. Been a very busy year, mostly socializing with all my friends; spending time in Codroy this summer and fall; a trip to the now abandoned town of Grand Bruit in early summer; a great trip to Cuba! I would lov...
MurrMade Knits: July 2009
http://murrmadeknits.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 16, 2009. Recession: why not barter. Well I have been very lazy with my blog these past two months. With the warmer weather, work and spinning and knitting, it has gone to the way-side. A friend and co-worker of mine makes pottery as a hobbie. I casually mentioned to her that I would love a set of bowls and after chatting we ended up bartering a couple of my knit-wears (hat and vamps) for a set of 4 of the most beautiful bowls I have ever seen. MurrMade Knits: Latest spinning adventure.
http://murrmadeknits.blogspot.com/2009/05/latest-spinning-adventure.html
Tuesday, May 12, 2009. I finished this yarn on Sunday afternoon. It is a "green moss" plied with a deep red. Turned out to be 280 yards and weighs a little more than 6 oz. My spinning has become more even with practice, and I think it shows. This will once again make for great socks. I am now working on a wonderful Alpaca/Romney mix compliments of Petra. I am thinking hats for this spin. May 28, 2009 at 7:05 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Newest Knits from my spun yarn! View my complete profile.

Getting Crafty and Cultured in Los Angeles
Getting Crafty and Cultured in Los Angeles. Trying to find ways to be more crafty and find some culture while living in Los Angeles on a budget. Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Roasted Chicken in Blood Orange and Sage Sauce. I adapted this recipe from Jamie Oliver's Pot-Roasted Guinea Fowl with Sage, Celery, and Blood Orange. Basically, I wanted to use the blood oranges I got, but I couldn't find any Guinea Fowl (or Game Hens) at the market so I got chicken instead. 4 skin on and bone-in CHICKEN breasts.

Adventures in Arts and Crafts. Thursday, October 20, 2011. That time that I won a Provincial art Award. Well, okay, so I was 4 months getting to my next post…. It’s better than 2 years, right? Anyway, thought I’d share my Arts and Letters experience from back in April! Here is a pic of me with my wood-block relief print "Self Portrait as a Garden" at The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery in St. John’s, Newfoundland! The piece was on display at the rooms with the other winners and honorable mentions for 2 weeks.
