Glory round the fields of Anfield Road: September 2014
http://kop-post.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, 27 September 2014. Liverpool 1 Everton 1. Speaking before his 32. Merseyside Derby Liverpool’s under pressure skipper Steven Gerrard said, “We need a reaction. The start of the season has not been good enough and we need to get that intensity back when we don’t have the ball and try to score early and get the crowd behind us. If you can’t get yourself up for a derby game at Anfield, you’re in the wrong game so I hope the lads don’t need much rallying.”. We began giving up possession to Everton ...

Glory round the fields of Anfield Road: July 2015
http://kop-post.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, 5 July 2015. Liverpool 2014-15 review: Brendan Rodgers and the board at crisis point. Sixth place finish in the league and no disguising the fact we’ve gone backwards. Suarez left for Barcelona in pre-season and like Alonso, Mascherano and Torres before him went on to win silverware. Even the much maligned Iago Aspas loaned to Sevilla helped his himself to a Europa Cup winner’s medal. There had to be more than just intent in this summer’s window because the club had reached crisis point. We saw f...

Glory round the fields of Anfield Road: March 2015
http://kop-post.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, 30 March 2015. Does Raheem really deserve an increase in pounds Sterling? Does Raheem Sterling really deserve parity with Daniel Sturridge? It seems £100,000 per week is too low for the England International despite a £65,000 per week pay hike. Since taking over from Hicks and Gillet, John W Henry and his Fenway Sports Group cohorts have placed a firm hand on the tiller implementing financial controls inside Liverpool Football Club to pull it back from brink of collapse. Sturridge’s problem...

Sunday, 24 May 2015. Stoke 6 Liverpool 1: Thank you and see you again soon Stevie G! As his beloved team is trounced! Today is one of the saddest days for any LFC fan with the final curtain coming down on our legendary captain Steven Gerrard's career. He had his final home farewell at Anfield last weekend and now this weekend is his last ever game as a LFC player - his immense presence and leadership around the club both on and off the pitch will be missed. YNWA. Match thoughts once team was announced: I...

Glory round the fields of Anfield Road: December 2014
http://kop-post.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 December 2014. Excellent Liverpool dismantle Swansea. Brendan Rodgers side went into the game relatively confident in the knowledge of being unbeaten in their last five matches against Swansea and coming off the back of the scruffy win against Burnley. Captain Steven Gerrard was rested on the bench alongside Markovic and Toure with Emre Can starting in the back three. Rodgers starting with Sterling leading the line and three strikers on the bench said a lot about his confidence in his frontmen.

Wednesday, 29 October 2014. Balotelli inspires last gasp win. Brendan Rodgers finally succumbed to outside pressures, dropping Mario Balotelli to the bench and ending the will he, won’t he saga by bringing in Rickie Lambert for a start alongside Fabio Borini. Making nine changes from the disappointing draw with Hull with only Lovren and Johnson remaining and Lucas starting for the rested Gerrard. Coutinho, showing all his tricks of the trade shimmied past Fulton before dragging his shot wide. The Swansea...

Glory round the fields of Anfield Road: August 2015
http://kop-post.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 31 August 2015. Liverpool 0 West Ham 3 -Disastrous Home Performance - Total Hammering. Blog by David Douglas. After our battling draw away to Arsenal, we returned to what we deem to be our "Fortress" Anfield with three clean sheets in three games and 7 points from three games which was a very good start. Lovren's disastrous afternoon began with him failing to clear the ball and gifting a chance for West Ham's Argentinian loanee Manuel Lanzini to punish us 0-1. There were countless occasions when ...
