We got to the hospital at 8:00 am (EST) this morning and Ava’d been fasting since 4:30 am (yes – mom got up at 4:30 EST to give her a bottle). I was exhausted before we even started the day, and Ava was none too impressed with her surgically imposed hunger-strike either. 8 Sleeps →. March 3, 2011. Hotel booked – check. Airfare booked – check. Nerves frazzled – check. It’s t-minus one month to TO. We’re scheduled for Ava’s second surgery on April 7th at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. Our insurance is paying for a lot of the trip, which is great. The Other Side →. February 14, 2011. March 16th arrived quickly. On the night of the 15th Ava had to start fasting and wasn’t allowed to eat anything after midnight. Let me assure you – that’s not an easy feat with a fussy 3 month old baby! We arrived at the hospital and they put her in her requisite blue gown, tracked her vitals and weighed her.
