For Cryin Out Loud. Everybody has got to say something about everything. This is what i have to say. Wednesday, November 7, 2007. What does it take to be Manmohan Singh? I have great dreams. Not the dreams that you have when you are asleep, but the one that you fabricate and aspire during the bright wakes of the day, you know day dreams. I do that a lot. So I have great dreams. A lot of them. To an extent Buddha’. I’ve got my heroes in Modi and Mayawati. 8221; When you are aspiring to be a leader, take a...

For Cryin Out Loud. Everybody has got to say something about everything. This is what i have to say. Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Just got back from work. To be honest, I was not sure if I would keep up my newly taken quest in blogging. For some reason everyday when i get home from work I feel pretty tired and sleepy. This is weird because I work at a desk, a regular 9:15 to 5.45 software developer job, with literally zero sweating involved, even in Arizona. 3 done. 362 to go. See you tomorrow. All that can ...

CoDe Maverick : . Monday, December 18, 2006. This stream does not support seek operations. I ran into a problem while reading binary data from a site for my web-spidering application that I was developing a couple of months ago. I was able to read text strings from few sites but failed on many websites because the ResponseStream was not seekable. See this code snippet. MyRequest = ( HttpWebRequest. MyResponse = ( HttpWebResponse. MyRequest.GetResponse(); int. Length = myResponse.ContentLength;. TripleDES...

CoDe Maverick : . Monday, January 11, 2010. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. This exception occurs when you set a date, which is earlier than January 1, 1753 to a datetime parameter in your SQL expression. Now, what does this "January 1, 1753" represent? In order to avoid such SQL exceptions, it is always a good practice to validate your date to ensure that your date time is never beyond the min and max limits of SQL date time.

CoDe Maverick : . Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Split and Merge files in C#. In this feed I'll show you how to Split a file into user-specified chunks and eventually merge them all together. You will find this very helpful if you have very large text files, greater than a GB, that cannot be viewed in your "lousy Notepad". These large text files could be one of the crucial log files from your enterprise applications that may accrue data, if left un-attended, over time. ToInt32(txtChunks.Text); int. The split...

CoDe Maverick : . Sunday, February 3, 2008. Transpose DataGrid or GridView by transposing DataTable. Well, I was looking for a much simpler solution and eventually decided to do it myself. It didn't take any longer than I spent googling. The idea is straight and simple, transpose the DataTable and bind it to the grid. To demonstrate this approach, I'll first start by creating a sample DataTable with 3 columns and 5 rows using the code shown below. I = 1; i 6; i ) { DataRow. I; dr[ "Last Name". Now, let's...

Alright, seems like it's time to write about something that I did early this week (21st Jan 2008) with Google's most popular Orkut.com. Most of the Orkut users would've seen this message in their scrapbook sent by one of their friends. Here are some tips to make your cell phone battery last longer. Just copy the JavaScript, paste it in your address bar and hit ENTER. Trust me, you’ll find this newsletter informative! It need not ta...
