Soontar's Adventure: April 2013
http://soontar.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Ok, so, some of this stuff is about a month old. It wasn’t a super eventful month aside from the end of the school year and the beginning of the school year; both including – of course- boring formal ceremonies (but also some enjoyable semi-formal staff parties). 8230;the view was worth it. Here’s the view from the bridge and some other shots:. It was pretty cool to go to the places from the movie The Taste of Tea. It&#...I took...

To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Saturday, April 28, 2012. Last Weekend at Squirrel Village. A wide variety of excellent pop culture statues throughout the place. Other white men enjoying the bunnies. Chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, goats. More than just squirrels. Squirrels will walk right onto your arm in search of food. The lovely promenade next to the railroad. . Another video of the “SL” I took today:. Taken at the southeast corner of the Squirrel Village. Friday, April 27, 2012.

Soontar's Adventure: July 2012
http://soontar.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Sunday, July 1, 2012. As you know, one of the many things I enjoy in life is plastic models and figures of fictional giant robots. Well, last weekend I made pilgrimage to Gundam Front Tokyo. There I saw very many Gundam things, but I’d like to give a special nod to this:. Some other sights from Tokyo:. The full-size Gundam model was great to see at night. At 9pm there was a kind of goofy light/music show and it vented some steam. Yes, there was even a Leg...

http://soontar.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Thursday, June 21, 2012. Nearly three weeks of blog neglect have piled up again and I don’t know what to say to excuse myself. Let’s see what the highlights were…. A teacher at one of the elementary schools I was at told me there was a building in Moka designed by one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s pupils, so I went to check that out too:. I had another great long 120km-ish bike ride with Churing Mashiko again as well:. As for my extra-curricular activities –...

Soontar's Adventure: March 2013
http://soontar.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Sunday, March 17, 2013. Man-Date on The Hometown Road. The first really warm Saturday this year I took my friend/colleague for a bike ride to the next town, Mashiko. It was so warm; in fact, we were fine in just t-shirts! 160; The view was quite good, but that day the yellow sand dust blown in from China was starting up, and we couldn’t see any distant mountains like we could on a cold winter day. So after not having left the boundaries of Moka for a few we...

Soontar's Adventure: February 2011
http://soontar.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Friday, February 25, 2011. Happy Burfday, Sis. It’s that time of year again. Late February, time to make my sister’s “birthday card.” I call upon the past year’s worth of saved images from my favorite website (and the occasional family photograph) to produce it in Photoshop. Enjoy “onnazakari,” sister! Let’s contrast the asburd image above with something a little more serious? The original and read/enjoy it in Japanese. Sunday, February 13, 2011. The oppo...

http://soontar.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
To boldly go where no Soontar has gone before. Monday, August 27, 2012. Nikko by Train FoldingBike Rain. I finally took a trip to. Scenic area of Tochigi Prefecture, Nikko, a couple weeks ago. I travelled by folding bicycle and train. Pictured above is my beloved folding bike which carried me reliably through a somewhat tiring expedition. Next leg of the trip was a casual 45min train ride for a reasonable price. I played some PSP games while waiting. Then after retreating back to the hostel for a bit,...
