crazy mom quilts

Friday, March 23, 2018. A little bit vintage. Welcome to finish it up Friday! I'm still plugging away quilting my huge log cabin quilt, so that's where I've spent the bulk of my sewing time this week. I did have time to finish up (and gift! A few items this week, so that was fun! This pouch was something that I made around the holidays, I think, but I finally sent it off to it's new home this week. (It was so nice to have it ready to go! I turned them into this cute little pencil pouch (free tutorial here.

crazy mom quilts: movin' on up

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2011/02/movin-on-up.html

Monday, February 28, 2011. I'm happy to share with you February's stash quilt pattern. Just in the nick of time! The layout is much different than what I had anticipated when I first started this quilt. That happens sometimes, and that's ok. I really like this happy little accident! 12 10" squares.either use layer cake pieces or yardage from your stash. (if you are using yardage, you will need just under a yard of fabric) I used 12 different prints. 1 1/4 yards background fabric (white, in my case).

crazy mom quilts: gifts to create for Christmas '08

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/09/gifts-to-create-for-christmas-08.html

Wednesday, September 03, 2008. Gifts to create for Christmas '08. Group set up, too, but let's face it, if I waited until I got all that organized, I wouldn't start with these tutorials until well. New Year's. Maybe I'll work those things up as we go along. So here we go.(and thanks for all your excitement about this.I'm very excited, too.). Today's tutorial is for checkbook covers. I have 3 varieties. Cut 2 rectangles 7" x 13". I used regular cotton fabric, so I added interfacing on the back. Trim patch...

crazy mom quilts: how to make a ragged squares quilt

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/10/how-to-make-ragged-squares-quilt.html

Tuesday, October 21, 2008. How to make a ragged squares quilt. Last week Jeanie asked me how to make a ragged squares quilt. Several weeks ago I had also gotten a request to show the basics of assembling a quilt top, so I'll try to incorporate both of these in this tutorial. This would be a great beginner quilt, but fun for any skill level. Select your fabrics: I used 13 fabrics in my quilt. (some were fat quarters and some were half yards.) 14 are shown, but I omitted one along the way. 3", 6" and 9".

crazy mom quilts: free motion quilting

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2008/03/free-motion-quilting.html

Monday, March 03, 2008. Welcome to the last week of our quilt-a-long! Today it's all about finishing up your quilt. OK, so first off, I'd like to state, I am not an expert on free motion quilting, by any means! My husband (he is such a sweet man) helped me put together a video for today's post. A few things to note. For free motion quilting you will need to use a darning foot. If you ever have a chance to take a machine quilting class, I would highly recommend it. There is some great discussion on free m...

crazy mom quilts: good neighbors scrap happy purse

http://crazymomquilts.blogspot.com/2015/05/good-neighbors-scrap-happy-purse.html

Friday, May 15, 2015. Good neighbors scrap happy purse. Welcome to finish it up Friday! Quilt market is in Minneapolis this weekend, and since it's so close to home, it was an easy decision to attend. I needed a new bag,. So I sewed up a scrap happy purse. Using my good neighbors fabric. Thanks for the wonderful suggestion, Susan Holman! At first I thought it was going to be difficult to chop up the fabric, but actually, it was pretty fun! I sewed these on while I was visiting my sister. Please link up y...

Sunday, January 29, 2012. Boucher Baby #2's Journey to the world . I haven't had much to say about this pregnancy. Perhaps it's because it's not my first baby - perhaps it's because I've been much more busy with work and a 2 year old - or maybe because I wasn't as ready to become pregnant as I thought I should be . I don't know. Regardless, I haven't shared much about him/her. So let me start by showing you the latest picture of our little monster:. It was such BAD timing. I felt guilty and it took a...

In The Life of a Boucher: April 2012

Wednesday, April 25, 2012. One Month Come and Gone. We were sitting at dinner last night and I suddenly realized that Elsie's one month birthday came - and we missed it! I can't believe that it has been one month already. On one hand - one month has come (and gone) SO FAST! Was it really just one month ago that we were in the hospital? We knew each other before we were born - and were obviously very close there - it makes sense that bringing her home feels more like a reunion than a first meeting. She on...

In The Life of a Boucher: A Web Slinger in your Face

http://boucherblogger.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-web-slinger-in-your-face.html

Friday, January 3, 2014. A Web Slinger in your Face. I have felt the urge over the last few weeks to start documenting my thoughts and little life again, so after a good fourteen months of inactivity - here are the Bouchers again! Jace and Elsie were taking a bath and as I put a towel over Elsie and grabbed her by the bum I started making up my own version of "I like big butts" song . I like naked buts and I cannot lie . He kept running in and showing me his (untoweled) naked butt and just laughing!

In The Life of a Boucher: Movin On Up ..

http://boucherblogger.blogspot.com/2014/02/movin-on-up.html

Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Movin On Up . I've been wanting to move for awhile. This house that we are in now on Saguaro Dr. is the house I have lived in the longest . my entire life. Just shy of 8 years. (WOW)! Us We didn't really expect to sell in December, but were excited to have it on the market. We got a steady stream of showings - every Saturday - but no bids. But who cares - it was Christmas! The first week of January, we had an awesome showing and the buyers were very excited about our house!

Wednesday, May 23, 2012. 2 Months . WHAT? I can't believe that Elsie has been a part of our lives for two whole months now! It is ridiculous how fast time has gone. Again, it feels like she has been here forever, yet it has gone so fast. At about 6 weeks, she started sleeping from 10 pm until 6 am - giving her mom and dad a much needed break in the sleep department! We haven't had the chance to take many pictures and to do many fun things - being a working mom of two is BUSY! What does that look mean?

In The Life of a Boucher: February 2014

http://boucherblogger.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 10, 2014. I didn't realize how hard it would be to leave my ward family. Moving as a youth, I was emotionally devastated every time we had to pack up and leave - but as an adult . I've been totally fine with this move! Up until now. I am grateful for my time here; I'm grateful for such a wonderful home and friends who love me and my family. We feel at such peace with our move - but it still is hard. Very bittersweet. Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Movin On Up . When setting out to purchase a...
