W e i r d W e f t s . . . 2 0 1 5. Summer in the ‘Bool. Though the Centre for Creative Arts Building has been open quite a while now, it has no air-con – and the weather, to put it mildly was b l o o d y hot. We moved back to the Arts Building for the printmaking. We tried monoprints, using acetate sheets as the plates. Here is the drawing:. From there we sk...

SHANE JONES ART BLOG: The Choir
http://jonesartblog.blogspot.com/2015/06/the-choir.html
SHANE JONES ART BLOG. Thursday, June 4, 2015. 2015, linocut, 48 x 61 cm. This is my latest linocut and the various stages of its development, from the initial pencil drawing on the lino to the finished print on paper. The subject of this image is the sound of human voices so it's really about portraying something that's invisible. I also liked the idea of the contrast between active voices and the single person that has stopped singing to look out of the picture at, what? Charles Nodrum Gallery, Melbourne.

SHANE JONES ART BLOG: May 2015
http://jonesartblog.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
SHANE JONES ART BLOG. Thursday, May 14, 2015. Last weekend was the annual Ballarat Heritage Weekend. There was so much to see and do that sometimes it felt as if a week was needed to experience everything. Some of the highlights were a tour of the Old Colonsists' Club, a building that features in the Doctor Blake Mysteries. What a treat it was having a glass of wine at the bar. Where the doctor himself. A sparkling tribute to the Andrew Sisters, and what a treat that was too! On the Balcony of the OCC.

SHANE JONES ART BLOG. Saturday, November 29, 2014. Deborah and I in the Green Room at the ABC. Our interview is on Thursday morning, 4 Dec, between 7 - 7.30am. Tune into 104.3 ABC FM. The photos above were taken in the Green Room. For some reason I always thought the Green Room would be just that - green, but as you can see there's no hint of green anywhere. Just out of curiosity, I looked it up and it's interesting to read more about its origins. Click Green Room. Links to this post. Links to this post.
