Graham Smith Writer: February 2013
http://grahamsmithwriter.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Monday, 25 February 2013. As a crime reader, writer and reviewer one of the things that interests me most is that all important first paragraph. A good one grabs me straight away while a bad one turns the air a kind of sweary blue colour. Take for example these two opening lines I’ve just made up. One should tickle your interesting bits while the other is blander than white fish with plain rice. Reaching beneath my jacket I un-holstered the Sig Sauer I always carried. The second instance starts you right...

LES MORRIS: Plans for 2014
http://www.lesmorris.com/2014/01/plans-for-2014.html
Makin' It Up As I Go Along. Saturday, January 4, 2014. Well, here we are in 2014 and, as yet, I haven't made any New Year Resolutions. I never manage to keep them anyway. What I've done instead is think of what I want to achieve and then made plans for 2014 to steer me in the right direction. So, in no particular order, these are my plans for the coming months. Finish the first draft of my current work in progress. Attend the Crime and Publishment. Experiment with some different genres. So, there you hav...

LES MORRIS: Crime and Publishment 2015
http://www.lesmorris.com/2014/11/crime-and-publishment-2015.html
Makin' It Up As I Go Along. Sunday, November 2, 2014. Crime and Publishment 2015. I have been along to the last two Crime and Publishment weekends. I found a great deal of value in every session. Being shown how to improve my writing by published novelists has had a great impact on my writing style and, I like to think, quality. Anyone who wants to further their writing career to any level should come along to Gretna. I've always had a great time, at a great location and made some wonderfil friends.
