Crochet Magick

Adventures in a Creative Life. Monday, December 28, 2009. Let me add here though that working retail has helped to derail the holiday spirit. There is nothing more depressing than having to endure two months of Xmas music and the grabby, spoiled actions of my fellow human beings. But I digress. I did the holidays and am glad in the end that I did. In the end our very untraditional Xmas included sitting around all day in PJs, having tacos for our early meal (my sister works nights and had to be in bed ear...

Crochet Magick: April 2009

http://crochetmagick.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Adventures in a Creative Life. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Okay, so I wrote last time that I was going to make Toria's Tea Party dress. But my skills with the sewing machine are awful. If my hands didn't hurt so much I would probably just do it by hand. But I have to use the machine. So, I have decided to practice. Little projects, easy projects, so I can get at least a little better at machine sewing. I bought the current issue of Sew Simple Magazine. Posted by Mindy Shuman. Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Crochet Magick: August 2009

http://crochetmagick.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html

Adventures in a Creative Life. Monday, August 31, 2009. A Bluebird Purse and fall projects. The beak is made of two pieces crocheted into V shapes and sewn, overlapping, into place. I crocheted the wing separately and sewed it into place. It covers the pocket which is shaped like an egg and crocheted in another Vanna yarn. Onto a piece of blue felt and sewed it onto the other side of the purse. Posted by Mindy Shuman. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I did National Novel Writing Month! And then the sun and.

Crochet Magick: Mom's Day

http://crochetmagick.blogspot.com/2009/05/moms-day.html

Adventures in a Creative Life. Friday, May 1, 2009. I chose a selection of blue and white fabrics of varying shades and pattern sizes, mostly floral, and then a piece for the backing. I decided to applique a heart from the white material in the center of the block. Here it is before stitching. And here is a close up of the stitches I used to applique it. I love the pattern on that white fabric, you hardly see it all until it is backed by a darker fabric. Posted by Mindy Shuman. May 22, 2009 at 9:17 AM.

Agate's Pen: Harvest festival

http://agatespen.blogspot.com/2010/10/harvest-festival.html

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Friday, October 29, 2010. So Mabon was the time for the annual Pagan Pride Event in fair Oaks, Ca. Once again held at the VFW, it had ssome new stuff and returning favorites as well. I thought I was going to Harvest Festival alone this year, but a friend and her friend joined me for part of the day. This one was a bit more lively than the last one I went to and I enjoyed myself. Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Saturday, March 21, 2009. I hate being weepy in my posts, so I half regret my last post. On the other hand, feeling the way I did and writing it out did in a way help bring forward the things that have been bothering me. Now its time to move on, right? I have decided that eventually, my goal is to live in this area. I think it is what I need to do once I am able. Posted by Mindy Shuman.

Sometimes in a busy day of work, Goddess sneaks up on you and leaves you breathless. And even a parking lot basks in beauty. Posted by Mindy Shuman. Sunday, August 16, 2009. I've always loved the way clouds look, so I snapped this one. Again while at work. This spider, whose picture I could only get with the flash (too blurry otherwise) keeps buildin...

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Sunday, April 15, 2007. But I want to do rituals, so I have had to alter how it is done. For example I like to dance my circle into creation. Except for music, it is silent. I do call the quarters, just without words. This I like, this feels spiritual for me. I speak later on, saying the Charge of the Goddess (which I. Posted by Mindy Shuman. Wednesday, April 4, 2007. I would love to create ...

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Monday, June 22, 2009. Here are the pictures I promised yesterday. This is the sunrise I witnessed from Caspar Beach. Okay, technically the sun had been up a little while before it cleared the hills and trees, but this is when I saw it. My labyrinth in the sand. It was washed away before I left, but I got two walks out of it. I decided to a little more drawing in the sand as I relaxed. Event...

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Sunday, June 21, 2009. I spent the morning on Caspar beach. I was there before six am and though the sky was light, the sun had yet to peek over the mountains. When it did, I confess I greeted it with the camera lens rather than a prayer, but I had other plans. I decided to cleanse all the stones I had with me and set them up on the altar beneath the solstice sun for a while. We’Moon :...

Agate's Pen: Goodbye Grandma

http://agatespen.blogspot.com/2009/11/goodbye-grandma.html

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Monday, November 9, 2009. On October 1 my grandmother, Alma, died. I took care of her the past few years and I find it strange for her to be gone. Even though I had to go to the nursing home to visit her since we had to move her there in January, I can still feel the hole in my life her passing has left. I honored her on Samhain and I remember her here where anyone can see it. This picture w...

Made of Earth. Forged by Fire. Cooled by Air. Washed by Water. A tiny part of something bigger, Whole unto itself. Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I have been a witch (based upon Wicca as I learned it from Scott Cunningham's books) since 1993. I am eclectic with definite Dianic leanings, but I practice no specific tradition. I am a creative witch. Most of my practices include the making of something, from a poem or prayer, to a crocheted or embroidered item and in this way I connect with Goddess. Caspar Beach...

Crochet Made Easy - Simple Chrocheting Guide

Crocheting is an art of creating fabric with cord or threads using certain type of hooks. The word crochet was derived from the French word “croc”, meaning hook. In earlier days, lace working was very much prevalent and in early 18th century crocheting took over the lace work. Crochet materials were less expensive than that of its lace counterpart and people started crocheting using various natural fibres and various types of hooks such as wood, ivory and brass. As years rolled by, crocheting established...

Crochet Mae - Get Hooked

September 27, 2017. Here it is almost the middle of September. Wow. The holidays are nearly here and with that comes a lot of crocheting. If crochet had a season then fall would definitely be it. I crochet more this time of year and there are some great yarn events around town. There’s a yarn crawl in October followed by a fiber festival in November. Not to mention that the weather starts to change so having that warm yarn wrapped around my fingers is nice and cozy. Between the hats and the fruit plus a ...

Crochet Magpie | Where I share my love of colour, shiny things and crochet!

Where I share my love of colour, shiny things and crochet! Published July 22, 2015. I am remarkably good at this! This past week or so my faffing about has taken the form of “deluding myself that I’m making progress when actually I’m just faffing”. We’ll call it dmtimpwaijf for short. Catchy, right? I got some fab advice last week on my unfinished blankets, and resolved to take it all on board, power on and finish up 3 projects I’m really excited about :). I amaze myself with my brilliant ideas sometimes.
