Friday, September 2, 2011. I went on the trip to the czech not knowing exactly why i was going,. I just knew i had to go. The experience ending up making me feel more alive than i've felt in a while. Originally, i was scared that in saying yes to an experience overseas that i'd be saying no to finding enjoyment in my ordinary daily life in south pasadena. i'm the girl who photographs daily life. there was this part of me that feared getting out of the safe zone of my daily and into something new. Our Ocean Front Property: What a Plunderful Day!
http://ouroceanfrontproperty.blogspot.com/2012/10/what-plunderful-day.html
October 20, 2012. What a Plunderful Day! This morning my mother-in-law and I went out to hit up a few garage sales before attending an essential oils party (It was awesome, by the way). We had about an 1 1/2 hrs and made it to 3 places. The first 2 places were fun, but didn't result in any amazing plunder. But the third place was a big barn FULL of goodies! Here are some pictures of the best of the goodies from this mornings adventures! Some vintage hankies for the sis, 35 cents each. Yay for my hankies!

Our Ocean Front Property: Sewing Room Decor DIYed
http://ouroceanfrontproperty.blogspot.com/2012/10/sewing-room-decor-diyed.html
October 30, 2012. Sewing Room Decor DIYed. Have I mentioned that recently bought our first home? There are quite a few rooms in this house, so it has been slow going in decorating. But last night I had a spurt of energy for sewing up the Sewing Room decor. Here is how it turned out! The walls are still pretty bare, but that's another task for another day. UPDATE: Curtain to hide above nast? Done God bless nap-time! Material behind glass windows to cover chaos of "to repurpose" clothes pile. A Daughter of...

Sincerely...Cassandra.: Two Years
http://ousnamercj.blogspot.com/2010/02/two-years.html
Today is my boyfriend and I's two year anniversary. Two years ago today, he called me and asked me to be his girlfriend. But, before you can understand the full meaning of today and why it's so amazing we're together, you have to know how it all started:. Over the summer, starting about freshman year, I would nanny to a family I know that lives on a ranch. On this ranch, they run a business, Giant R. They left the next day. A few weeks later, The Ranch got a thank-you card, and I learned his last name.

Sincerely...Cassandra.: The Spring Beret...

Is finally done. I sewed on some buttons, and promptly put it away. I knit it a bit too small for even my (small) head. I'll still wear it to Chicago though. Hopefully my flight isn't canceled. I'll post pictures while I'm there. I think I'll be starting on another hat. But not a beret, just a regular hat. Simple, fast, easy. This entry was posted on Dec 23, 2009 at 5:47 PM . May 28, 2012. DIY Lace Trimmed Shorts. Last post I told you how I went to Goodwill on a quest to fill my desire for colored shorts. I came home with a pair of bright blue/aqua mom jeans that I turned into cuffed shorts and these red shorts. They are No Boundaries brand (Walmart? I tried them on at the Goodwill and liked the fit and the color, but thought they were a bit short. Thus, I got them with the mindset of adding another inch or so with some lace. Turn your shorts inside out. I think the lace adds...

Yeah, I've got a blog. Ryan’s Guide to Living With Cancer/Chemo (part 0001). So I’ve been thinking about this for a couple weeks: how do I bridge the gap between having cancer, going through chemo, then attempting to regain some sense of normalcy? So I present to you the first part in a series: “Ryan’s Guide to Living With Cancer/In Chemo.”. Now, the first thing you need to remember is that there are 2 separate variables when dealing with chemo:. 8220;By the way, what should I expect to feel? 8221; is no...

Junk Food Remade: Pop-tarts « A Golden Afternoon: Simplified Home Living

Junk Food Remade: Pop-tarts. First turn on some awesome music. Really…just do it. Whisk the flour, sugar and salt, and combine those with the butter using a hand blender or a food processor. You want it combined to the point that you have pea-sized pieces. I had a 6-year-old doing most of the blending so she got as close as she could, shown above. Over-mixing will result in less flaky crust so err on the side of less blending. Brush the dough with the beaten egg. Pumpkin filling from a can or homemade.
