Notes from today: November 2012
http://eliandrobyn.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
November 3, 2012. Sarah { two months }. Can you believe our little Sarah is two months old? She grows bigger (and squirmier! Every day. We grow more in love every day. It's a win-win! It's hard to believe that she can change so much in just a month, but I absolutely love watching her grow and become her own little person. She has developed quite a personality, laughing and smiling often. It just melts my heart when she smiles at me. Three weeks ago, I went back to work (tear! Most of Sarah's clothes are ...

Notes from today: October 2012
http://eliandrobyn.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
October 13, 2012. Reflections from a new mom. It's often said, but the transition into motherhood has been both one of the best and most challenging times in my life. Since the arrival of Sarah, I cannot imagine life without her. The blessings and overwhelming love I feel for her are so real. 1) Babies are forgiving. 2) Saturdays are not for sleeping in. When baby's up, everyone is up. 3) You can't do parenting by the book. 4) There isn't just one way to do things. 5) It's okay to cry. We've been able to...

Notes from today: August 2013

August 26, 2013. Sarah { seven months }. I've said it many times and I'll continue saying it - the time has just flown by! I'm so blown away by how much Sarah has changed and become her own little person. Her 7 month birthday happened right before Easter, so we thought it would be fun to take pictures with her Easter basket. (Also, we needed props to keep her occupied! She was much more pleasant and happy once those teeth came through. Later in the month, Sarah figured out how to barrel roll like a champ...

July 16, 2014. Turkey { week 1 }. Edited to add: we have talked with our mentors and we cannot publicly post anything connected to the people we encounter. This is just for their safety and privacy. However, we would love to share with you once we get back home! Thank you for understanding, and enjoy the "touristy" side of our trip! This post will probably be long, but I want to fill you in on the details of our time here so far. This one happens to be at the front of our site. Showing off her new tricks.

Notes from today: Turkey { Ephesus }
http://eliandrobyn.blogspot.com/2014/07/turkey-ephesus.html
July 30, 2014. Turkey { Ephesus }. This week we had the incredible opportunity to visit the ancient site of Ephesus as well as St. John's Basilica . It is amazing to walk in the same place that Paul journeyed and sit in the same market square where he sold his tents, or walk through the church dedicated to Jesus' disciple John. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Oh well, my tomato soup and veggie omelet were tasty, at least. Our distinctly Turkish room! I don't want all of my words taking away from the pic...

This is My Story... This is My Song: A babe in a manger
http://mystorymysong.blogspot.com/2011/12/babe-in-manger.html
This is My Story. This is My Song. Sunday, December 18, 2011. A babe in a manger. One of the things I love to do at Christmas is to set out my nativity sets. I have a small collection that mean the world to me. I look forward to this ritual every year. When the kids were little, they would help me place the figurines around the manger. This year I did it by myself. After being packed up for a year, I love unwrapping them and being reminded of the incredible gift of Jesus. In the beginning was the Word, a...

http://glynisakins.blogspot.com/2012/04/why-i-wear-makeup.html
If you're happy and you know it. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Why i wear makeup. Seriously. i hate washing my face! Let me tell you a story. At lunch duty, a little first grade girl asked me very concerned,. Miss Akins, what happened to your forehead? I answered her a little sheepishly and honestly (I could have lied, but what would be the point? Was her sweet (and a bit embarrassed) response. . And I WAS EVEN WEARING MAKEUP!
