Once more the brass band was in evidence, along with the usual amateurish PA announcements and performances by children that only their family and the terminally sentimental could enjoy. Friday, 24 January 2014. Street Knights is a great documentary about. On the streets of New York. These guys play for money and the amounts they have earned is surprisingly high. It's a side of the game that isn't really shown that much and yet these guys are pro players as much as the Kasparovs. Sadly the positive aspects of these park chess players didn't stop the park being closed. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. I've taken two photographs this week on my ramblings while shopping which have both elements I hadn't noticed at the time, but which I think add to the pictures. Sunday, 22 March 2015. As usual when lacking motivation (which is not the same as inspiration) I headed for the sandplant on Saturday to see how things had changed. It's funny how my little brain works, but this particular mound of reclaimed sand reminded me of Ayers Rock. Probably a tenuous connection for anyone else! What a difference low evening light and blue skies makes! This picture wouldn't have worked had the sky been overcast and the light flat as it's all about the colour and the cloud seemingly hanging over the skip.
