The Pieceful Ewe: Britain Day 5 - Hoy Island
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2013/09/day-5-hoy-island.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. Britain Day 5 - Hoy Island. On a cool, misty morning, we drove onto the car ferry at Houton which took us to Lyness on Hoy. It was cold and windy outside, so I didn't stay on the deck long and missed seeing the dolphins. But I guess you can't see everything. Right from the pier is the Scapa Flow Visitor Center. We poked around a little in the museum, there is a lot to see there. We left and decided to drive northwards first. Path to the Dwarfie Stane. Visibility was low so we ...

The Pieceful Ewe: Britain Day 4 - Kirkwall and the Southern Islands
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2013/09/britain-day-3-kirkwall-and-southern.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. Britain Day 4 - Kirkwall and the Southern Islands. Our second day in Orkney was a little cooler but still nice. We headed east, toward Kirkwall and then down to the southern islands via the Churchill Barriers. The first stop was the St. Magnus Center where we watched a video. Then to the St. Magnus Cathedral. But I was also concerned with luggage space. The Italian Chapel is a symbol of survival among the Italian prisoners during their stay on Lamb Holm Island. It is the o...

Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Britain Extra - Fiber and Sheep Spotting. If you don't know by now, I'm a knitter, spinner, weaver and lover of all things fiber. If you don't know that about me yet.you haven't been reading my blogs. Anyway, in the course of our travels, anything fiber related was photo worthy. This entry is to share with you my finds. The Standing Stones of Stenness in Orkney are actually fenced in for sheep to graze. When you go and view them, you are invading their territory! A wheel at...

The Pieceful Ewe: How to Make a Magic Ball of Yarn
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-make-magic-ball-of-yarn.html
Sunday, February 7, 2010. How to Make a Magic Ball of Yarn. First, assemble a skein of yarn and an assortment of items. I prefer to have a medium weight yarn. Lace or sock weight will have you at this forever. Bulky may not be enough to wrap - unless you have more than one skein. I like to have 7-15 items, depending on what the person likes. Wrap the bulkiest or roundest object first. Whatever you think may be harder to wrap in later. I chose the. A piece of candy and a stitch marker were added. A pair o...

Monday, September 23, 2013. Britain - Day 1-2; Travel, Travel, Sleep, Travel. From Gatwick to Kirkwall, we had a few hours layover in Glasgow. We took a bus to the city center and wandered around the streets and saw a Tardis. The visitor center pointed us to the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art which was free. The photo below is looking out through one of the windows onto the street below. The view from our window, our rental car at far right. The path down the hill. The sun was just setting and we decided i...

The Pieceful Ewe: Britain Days 6 & 7 - To Inverness and Loch Ness
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2013/09/britain-day-6-to-inverness-and-loch-ness.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. Britain Days 6 and 7 - To Inverness and Loch Ness. Friday morning we went to a kiltmaking museum. It was interesting, but there was less there than I thought there would be. We learned how they are made by hand, saw a funny film about "famous kilts" and saw some people sewing them. I also saw some advertisement for day trips to Orkney from Inverness and seriously considered going on one. I missed the islands already. As we left, a wedding was starting. It was becoming a to...

The Pieceful Ewe: A Song
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2008/07/song.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2008. From the album We Need Each Other. It's time for healing, time to move on,. It's time to fix what's been broken too long. Time to make right what has been wrong;. It's time to find my way to where I belong. There's a wave that's crashing over me, and all I can do is surrender. Whatever You're doing inside of me. It feels like chaos, but somehow there's peace. And it's hard to surrender to what I can't see, but I'm giving in to something heavenly. I give everything I surrender.

The Pieceful Ewe: Jazzing June
http://piecefulewe.blogspot.com/2014/06/jazzing-june.html
Thursday, June 26, 2014. Three months completed and 12 of the 41 by 41. I've considered changing a few of these as I don't know if I still want to do them. Would that be cheating? And if so, who am I cheating? But for now, all items stay as they are. Here's what I did this last month. 12 - Get Rid of Past Crafts. 16 - Keep a manicure for 2 weeks. If I get a hand and arm massage with it, yes. 29 - Give A her book. A's birthday was coming up. So I thought heck, let's mail her the book! And here's how the l...
