Wheels and Tires for Autocross

Time to go with race tires. Hoosiers rule in autocross, and the hot setup for EF/EG is 275 35 15 Front and 225 45 15 rear. Of course 1) you have to find wheels that work with this size and 2) you have to make them fit on the CRX. After a lot of looking, the most attractive wheels, in our opinon, are from 949 Racing. Exhaust and Intake

Results point to good overall efficiency. Bigger is not better when it comes to exhaust and header tuning and many people do not understand the physics behind it. The air filter just fits behind the fender liner where there is a gap for fresh air. It rides low so you better not hit any large puddles with this setup. The K&N filter fits closely behind the fender liner (not installed here). You can see the bolt up tube section positioning the intake through the washer hole. The fit is tight.

Brakes and Suspension

All the bushings and bearings were replaced with new parts with most of the bushings replaced with hard polymer, polyurethane, or spherical bearings. Aftermarket front and rear sway bars were installed along with aftermarket big brakes, lines, and coilovers. Here are the details. Strip, clean, replace. Most people recommend Ground Control. The set up we went with uses eibach springs with 440F and 600R with Koni Yellow (sports) with billet upper mounts on spherical bearings. The mounts are extended 24mm for the Koni's. We could have gone with Koni Race, but we can alway change it, in fact we can have the shocks revalved and upgraded, try that on you coilovers! Front Koni/Ground Control setup. Great performance, great price, and the shocks/springs can be changed to tune.
