Despite all the undeserved ‘bad vibes’ that C Melody saxophones often seem to acquire along the way, mostly from sax players who’ve never tried one with a half-decent mouthpiece, it would seem that a few more established sax players are recording the odd album featuring the instrument. In the case were several old tenor mouthpieces, a Lewin with side rail lig, the inevitable short shank C* Selmer and a Colletto. Than any piece that I have ever tried. Any failing is that the bottom end is not as “phat” as my RPC and sub toning is not easy, possibly due to the smallish chamber. I have bought ano...
