CSUMS Research Project: 7/1
http://kassieresearch.blogspot.com/2008/07/71.html
Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Yesterday, I talked with Prof Lutzer about certain fractals lying in infinite dimensional space that I had been considering and attempting to compute the dimension of. Some of them are kind of interesting, but today, I realized that I made a big. So tomorrow, I'm going back to fix what I messed up the first time and trying to type things up on Tex. Also, I need to visit the Charles Center to make sure they got my honors request sheet, b/c they never sent me the confirm email. I am ...

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. 2: I met with Prof Lutzer today. That was actually pretty helpful. He seems to understand what I'm talking about most of the time and he was helpful in talking about infinite dimensional spaces. Most of the stuff I had seen before, but it was still pretty helpful as a review. I'm meeting with him again on Monday (and he's coming to my presentation to "learn" he says- the pressure's on! It might be something, but I'm not sure. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Three Photosensitive Mice, See how they Reproduce
http://timeforbiomath.blogspot.com/2008/06/now-that-i-have-got-my-linear-model.html
Three Photosensitive Mice, See how they Reproduce. Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Now that I have got my linear model down, I have coupled my two populations (photo and non-photosensitive) together and created a basic nonlinear model. In this model all age classes are split into NP and P, and the Adult class is also split into male and female. A lot of new parameters arise from this, however some of these may collapse after I talk to Prof Heideman. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Three Photosensitive Mice, See how they Reproduce. Monday, July 14, 2008. I am also reading about logistic models and using them to incorporate a density dependent death rate. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am a student at W&M researching under the CSUMS and UBM program. I am studying reproduction rate strategies in white-footed mice. I am creating a nonlinear version of my 5 stage cl. It has been awhile since I have posted and quite a. View my complete profile. The First Sine of Madness.

Three Photosensitive Mice, See how they Reproduce. Wednesday, July 16, 2008. I am creating a nonlinear version of my 5 stage class model. I am also working on a toy model (1 dimensional) to test out different ways of representing density dependent death rates. I will be meeting with Heideman tomorrow so I will probably ask him more about parameters and make sure the changes I have made so far look alright. I will also be working on my abstract that is due Friday. Monday, July 14, 2008.

CSUMS Research Project: 6/20
http://kassieresearch.blogspot.com/2008/06/620.html
Friday, June 20, 2008. 1: I've been working on Matlab today, and I think I fixed what was wrong from Wednesday, so I have this graph now:. An advantage normally) just to see if my local dimension is actually changing as I zoom in or if I'm just getting a different value because I have more points. But doing this still won't really verify anything since I'll just have relatively less points for black, but I still want to look at it. So, how accurate are these estimates? Is that if I scale all initial boxe...

Friday, June 20, 2008. So, I was able to find the local dimension around a point not equal to the fixed-point! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I am creating a nonlinear version of my 5 stage class model. I am also working on a toy model (1 dimensional) to test out different ways of representing de. So, I've been doing background research for the past week about applying this program. The first topic I'm looking into is optics, and the book I'm reading.
