Custom Tool and Die. CTE was founded in 1977 at its present location on 30 Willow Springs Circle in York, Pa. Known formerly as Chronister Tool Engineering, the company was successful and grew because of a strong emphasis on engineering and the ability to attract and retain high caliber, top quality employees. CTE Inc., a standalone manufacturer of dies and metal stampings, became a member of the Composidie group of companies when it was acquired from the former owner upon his retirement in 1998.
