Christ as the Cornerstone. My experience in Allendale was refreshing. It wasn’t refreshing in the sense that it was relaxing or easy going. We were running around in 100 degree weather and those of us involved behind the scenes were continually focusing our attention on the many moving parts that made this trip work. He can bring unity among believers from different cultures and backgrounds for His glory. If you looked closely enough, you could see a common passion being shared:. Opportunities abounded t...

Hospitality & Hope. We just had a team return from Nicaragua. Through our partnerships with local schools and churches, the team worked in classrooms, hosted a medical clinic, and did pastoral training. Read about Jake’s experience on the team:. 8221; moments when children understand a difficult concept and their understanding is widened. All things new | culturallyengaged.com
http://culturallyengaged.com/all-things-new
It doesn’t seem likely. Things new. (Rev. 21:5). God’s Word speaks a truth over our culture and our context that is much, much larger than what we can see. There’s a piece of this idea that we often overlook. As God’s people in a broken world, we aren’t allowed to sit back and shake our heads at the sin, terror, and slavery around us and hope that God gets busy fixing it. We are the agents of restoration. Because we are receivers of grace, we must become givers of justice and advocates for the vulnerable.

Our Allen Adventure!: Irene Relief
http://ourallenadventure.blogspot.com/2011/09/irene-relief.html
Thursday, September 8, 2011. Hurricane Irene did quite a bit of damage to New England but not before hitting Eleuthera "head-on." Mike and Shannan Fastzkie fared safely but lost all of the shingles off the front half of their house in the storm. Subsequently their roof was leaking terribly and when it rained (which was almost daily), Shannan was breaking out the mop and trying to keep things relatively dry. Here are a few photos from the trip. Jeremy Keever cleaning nails and getting ready for tar paper.

A few things about Olivia. She still says "Da Da" a lot and sometimes we think that she is trying to say "Zac". He wouldn't sit in ...

Thursday, May 29, 2014. This is where the "lightbulb" went on! In the previous post. We talked about the journey. During that 5 years, God began placing college students in our path. Meanwhile, with the advent of the biggest part of the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), there was real uncertainty with my health insurance business. If the answers to one or two key questions came back wrong, then the company would fold. 2) I asked some of the college students that know us well, "pretend you did not know...

Wednesday, March 2, 2011. For all our blog friends.sorry this has taken so long to get posted. It was an intense trip to Haiti and one I highly recommend. It will take a few posts to get it all in but let's start with the first two days. Sketchy, scary, a guy and his mom (the owners) that remind you of Adam Sandler in The Waterboy and we almost left. We did eat there.but revoked Bruce's restaurant picking priviledges for the rest of the trip. Sunrise over S. Florida. We then make a short stop in Cap Hait...
