The Tupp Inn and its later incarnation as 'Jenny Tears' was fondly remembered by many locals as a friendly, albeit slightly grubby, ‘howff’. It catered to all age groups, with youngsters tending to frequent the upstairs dancehall, while older folks were more inclined to gather in the lounge or front bar. This innovative heritage and arts project involved over 350 schoolchildren and adult volunteers in investigating their local heritage and ran from August 2013 to April 2014. It focused on the site of a 19th-century inn in the former mining community of Cumnock in East Ayrshire. Rsquo;, a legacy project co-produced with project participants and visitors to the site. Children from Greenmill Primary School participated in the nationwide 'Kids in Museums' Takeover Day 2013. At The Baird Institute.
