And all its sights and sounds: 2010-03
http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
I've never been much of a Nintendo Fan, as I've found their games to be too gimmicky. Now, there's the announcement of the Nintendo 3DS slated to be released in spring-summer of this year in Japan. Here's what it promises to be like:. I applaud Nintendo for taking steps towards new and innovative things, but is this just going to lead to more Mario games being made? But it's starting to feel like all the innovation and technology is used to simply "Make another Mario game". Assassin's Creed 2 review.

And all its sights and sounds: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift
http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010/07/blazblue-continuum-shift.html
A sequel to BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, Continuum Shift continues with the aftermath of the events from the first game (after the True Ending, of course). The characters are faced with a new enemy that they never expected would be the mastermind behind everything. All of your favourite characters return, with 3 new ones: Tsubaki Yayoi, a friend from school, Yuuki Hazuma (aka Terumi), the antagonist, and Mu-12 (who I shall say nothing about). BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is available for $39.95. Graduated la...

And all its sights and sounds: Shank demo
http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010/09/shank-demo.html
I'm going to ignore the fact that there was a lot of slow-down just from loading the demo and waiting for the game to start. You play Shank, a guy eager to get back his girlfriend from a masked wrestler named "The Butcher". Go at it with knives, guns, chainsaw and grenades! The game mentions developing a strategy to defeat each different type of enemy, but you're really just better off button-smashing your way through each fight, as you're likely to get the right weapon to dispatch of any foe.

And all its sights and sounds: Man, you got reaaaaaal ugly
http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010/10/man-you-got-reaaaaaal-ugly.html
Man, you got reaaaaaal ugly. Let me start off by saying yes, I am biased against this game for many reasons that, if I listed here, would detract from the purpose of this ranting. Your town gets destroyed, your armies have been decimated and you.strip your underclothing and remove all the vital bits that protect the limbs you shoot with. How was this a smart idea? Certainly, you could have stripped armour from your fallen buddies as precautionary measures? Other takes on character redesign:. The Average ...

http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
It took me about a week to get ME2 finished, and wanted to get through the whole thing before I wrote up a review. Finishing up sequel to an original I love is very satisfying. Seeing a great game being vastly improved upon is even better. Visually, ME2 is amazing. I never thought it could look any better than the original and Bioware proved me wrong (thank goodness the giant Chiclet teeth have been done away with). Facial expressions, tracer fire, everything just makes the game quite beautiful. Gamingwi...

And all its sights and sounds: Army of Two: The 40th Day
http://snipingmizzy.blogspot.com/2010/08/army-of-two-40th-day.html
Army of Two: The 40th Day. Army of Two: The 40th Day is a sequel to the original. Rios and Salem are now independent mercenaries for hire along with Alice, their handler, who are trying to fight their way out of a continuously war-ravaged Shanghai. Aurally, this game had me guessing as to where the enemies were going to be. It did a wonderful job on giving them different bits of dialogue to spout off: were the enemies circling around behind me? Were they climbing to higher ground to pick me off easier?

Xenosaga Episode 1: replay. I remember that I used to love this game.about ten years ago. I thought I would give it a chance to see if it aged well. Background music: there is none. Running through dungeons is simply filled with footsteps, and with the occasional battle, you'll quickly become tired of the battle music. I've heard some people say that they enjoy it, as "it is what space would be like". Uh, yeah. But it's a game. An RPG at that. You know what makes a great RPG? Menus for levelling characte...

L4D2: The Passing is an add-on, detailing the crossing paths of both games' survivors (sans 1 person, but I'M not giving it away). There are 3 maps to this add-on: getting through the city, crossing under the river, and getting the generator to start to get the bridge going. New additions/the good: hooray for more dialogue! The special infected with all the loot and med kits seem to be able to outrun a typical zombie and take a buttload of more bullets, but I guess they had to make it a challenge somehow.
