于 星期二, 11/26/2013 - 13:03 发表. 研究機構 Transparency Market Research 最近一份研究報告指出，全球嵌入式系統市場在到 2018 年市值將升至 1942.7 億美元，年間平均增長率 (CAGR) 達6.8%。 未來的晶片設計及研發，除了過往的市場性 (Marketing)、市場性設計 (Marketing Design)、函式庫控制 (Library Control)、電子設計自動化工具 (EDA ToolS) 等重心外，作業系統亦是重點之一。 UBM Tech Electronics 在 2013 年公布的數據顯示，34% 的嵌入式系統開發商都採用 Linux，16% 採用 Android。 嵌入式裝置因為構造簡單，損壞的機會較低，加上採用 QT 編寫和選用 ARM 處理器，因此遠較電腦省電，大大節省運作成本。 開發過程亦十分簡便，在 Linux 平台上完成開發後，再把成品放在 ARM 平台上重新編譯即可。 最後是產品的生命周期，我們採用的硬體產品最少有 5 到 10 年的生產期，最長的可達 20 年，避免因為硬體停產令客戶需要重新設計產品。

Here you'll find all required software to use Hitachi HD44780 based LCD character displays. The first time I bought one of those it was a 20x2 Crystal Fontz display:. It's quite cool but it's not very easy to install in a PC. You have to solder a bunch of electric wires from the LCD to a parallel port connector and a couple more wires to get the proper voltage from your power supply. You can find a very good HOWTO by Michael Sobik here. Then I bought a serial display by cw-linux.
