The Kaplans' Adventure in the Netherlands. May 26, 2016. Our May travels also took us to London and Tours (France). We took the long ferry from The Hook of Holland to Harwich. The ferry was a fun experience. It was like a streamlined version of a cruise ship. There were a few restaurants, several drink counters, a gaming room, a children’s area, and a mini movie theater. The Kaplans' Adventure in the Netherlands. June 30, 2016. It has been a very rainy June. The weather has certainly put a damper on weekend trips, but we are running out of steam here at the end on that front anyway. The girls run around and do handstands while we sit back and relax at one of restaurant patios that surround the church. As part of an ongoing effort to keep the girls from bickering 24 hours a day, and thus maintain a tiny bit of our sanity, Ian has been taking the girls on individual outings. In The Netherlands, fathers can get a free day from work each week to take care of the kids. This is called Papa Dag” (Daddy’s Day). We whimsically refer to Ian’s outing days with the girls as Papa Dag. They also got to go out to eat to both Robuust and Sa Lolla Pizzeria.
