Venice to Sicily | Why?

http://cycling-italy.beccibrown.com/why

A blog of another 1000 miles. Pretty much as soon as we finished the Dieppe to Barcelona. Trip it was agreed that we would have to do another trip as it was just so much fun. That’s a good question. It seemed like a fantastic place to eat and drink. It wasn’t until we were planning the route did we realise our geography had let us down. Italy it seems is a very hilly country. Bikes, trains and ferries. Last day on the bike. Mad dogs and Englishmen (and a Swiss girl). Chris on Bikes, trains and ferries.

A blog of another 1000 miles. June 18, 2014 The real thing. Day 4 – Siena to Grosseto. Today’s ride has been like a bag of haribo starmix. I’d say allsorts but I don’t like liquorice, and anyone reading this will be well aware of my haribo obsession. The day that just kept going. June 17, 2014 The real thing. Day 3 – Pistoia to Siena. Water water everywhere…. June 16, 2014 The real thing. Day 2 – Bologna to Pistoia. The word to describe today is without a doubt, wet. Rain showers? We have arrived in Italy.

A blog of another 1000 miles. Archive for March, 2014. March 23, 2014 Training Rides. 3 training rides in and being back on the bike has been somewhat eventful. For starters, getting used to cycling with a side wind most of the way is taking some effort, alongside managing fingers and toes that are cold to the point of numb (any suggestions from fellow cyclists…. Bikes, trains and ferries. Last day on the bike. Mad dogs and Englishmen (and a Swiss girl). Jon (Spaggetti) on Bikes, trains and ferries.

A blog of another 1000 miles. Archive for January, 2014. January 15, 2014 Planning. After we finished our weekly run, Ian announced we have a new team member coming to Italy with us – Martin. There will now be 6 of us in total. It isn’t looking good for the girls who will have to put up with four smelly boys… Oh…. January 12, 2014 Planning. Our first attempt at the route through Italy. January 8, 2014 Planning. We booked our flights from Manchester (and Basel) to Venice today! Bikes, trains and ferries.

Sightseeing in Lycra | Venice to Sicily

http://cycling-italy.beccibrown.com/sightseeing-in-lycra

A blog of another 1000 miles. June 23, 2014 The real thing. Day 9 – Caserta to Salerno. On route and whilst on a slip road we passed the most disturbing road kill of the trip. So far we have seen the usual small animals, several dogs and foxes. Today was a, not so long squished, snake – gross. Lunch was takeaway again just outside Pompeii, where we managed a 2 hour sightseeing mission around the remains of Vesuvius’ destruction. Chief blogger and haribo coordinator. Bikes, trains and ferries. Colin Ayris...
