My first 20km were a bit slow going up a long slow incline, but after that, it was downhill nearly all the way. It was the best day ever! George turned off towards home and I continued along the road which turned 45 degrees and ran alongside a mountain range, then another 45 degrees heading north again. It was a good route to ride because it completely missed Phoenix. Tomorrow is going to be even hotter and I have a mega day. There is nothing for over 200km so I have no choice. As I write this, the snow is melting in Katoomba after my town experienced its second October snow-storm in three years. (Last year the Blue Mountains were devastated by bushfires.). In Austria yesterday, it was sunny and 20 degrees. Early last year, Steven tried to talk me into a cycling trip in Europe. I was having none of it! We got back on the train, and headed for the canals of France instead.
